Every so often, I keep having to manually unclench everything in my shoulder and neck area when i realize I'm hunching over and stuff.
my shoulders are so stiff.
i keep trying to relax and straighten out my posture, but i gradually slip back into it.

does anyone else have to remind themselves to unclench and relax during the day?

Usually it's my jaw, but I also forget to breathe a lot. I've gotten better at catching myself, and it's usually at bed time.

@Fellowsheep:
oof, i've caught myself doing the jaw thing too!

oh snap, i've actually woken myself up a few times from not breathing.
Often times i'll be peacefully asleep or on the verge of it, and I jolt awake. it's really unpleasant. I wasn't sure why for the longest time, but i'm starting to realize it's because i legit just stop breathing.

@Vermii: Did you ever get told to use a mouth guard by your dentist, too? I hated doing that, and stopped after a few months. Thank goodness my teeth are still pretty awesome! Thankfully, when I fall asleep: I haven't yet woken myself up from not breathing.

My half sister has a heart (I think, arrythmia or summin'?) condition that causes her to stop breathing sometimes.

@Totalanimefan: It's too easy a trap to fall into mann.

@Fellowsheep:
I have not. But to be fair, it's been a while since I've seen a dentist- horrible as that is. >>

Yikes. I should probably bring this up to my doctor the next time i see her.

@Totalanimefan:
yeah, it's a hard thing to break.
of course it all comes down to stress and what not. usually.

X X X

@Fellowsheep: arrhythmia
Serious cases of it can make someone stop breathing for a bit.
In rest, my heart goes slow (40-50 bpm) but then can suddenly go way too fast (120 bpm or more) for a bit. I then have to stop breathing for a few seconds to manually reset it.

I have to remind myself to do this when I’m at the dentist.. does that count? D:

I do have to keep reminding myself to be calm and breathe every now and then because stress and anxiety will try to get to me. I need more naps during the day. Lol

@Totalanimefan:
That's good.
I've been doing better at reminding myself to relax! So that's a nice plus.

@Laniakea:
I don't see why not lmao.
I'm sorry to hear. My anxiety's been pretty bad lately too, which would probably explain why I'm so extra tense.

@koneko:
yikes, I hope things improve for you! but it's good you found a way to sort of ease things a little.
i should probably try breathing exercises myself lol.

i feel this. now that im thinking about it a lot more, i'm noticing anytime i even slightly change my position, my body just automatically reverts to a hunched over, clenched position.

@MoodyBats:
yeah, i grew up with a terrible posture, but i've only actually noticed it in recent years.
Well, technically my sister or my aunt, when they visited, they'd bring it up but i always brushed it off.

then the aches began.

there's probably a good way to keep track of it! and an even better way to deal with it.

@Vermii: I never really went to any of her classes but did some stuff when she was doing it at home
back in January. Though one of the things she did made me so nauseated and dizzy.
Probably means my posture is so out of whack. :vanora_sweat:

Well, it's cool you got to try! Not so that you got sick. I didn't even think yoga could do that, lol.

those things are normal to happen.

My aunt i think teaches a lot of things that have to do with being balanced
health wise.
