Forums General Chit-Chat What were you convinced of as a kid?

Donator — Winchester Posted 6 years ago ( 2019/06/26 10:30:50 )

As a kid, when I saw old photos (for example of my mother when she was young) all the photos were in black and white.

So I was convinced that, when my mother was young, there was no colour in the world. Her telling me she used to have orange pyjamas, was obviously a lie.

What were you 100% sure of as a kid?

I think I believed that too! I blame all the shows and cartoons that would represent the past in black and white.

My sister would put on a scary voice at night and tell me she's a dead witch.

I really love spooky things so a small part of me wanted to believe even when I had my doubts.

@Kira: I loved spooky things too, but mostly because they scared my big brother and I loved watching that

I was convinced chocolate made you pregnant. For real. I was eating a chocolate bar and my. mum wanted some, but I refused to share, so she told me chocolate makes you fat. At the time she was pregnant with my brother and that was the only kind of fat (big belly) I knew about, so I was convinced chocolate made you pregnant. I didn't eat any for ages.

I was such a weird kid xD

Lets see, so when i was a kid i was convinced i could float for a couple of months. Winter proved that belief totally wrong tho, slipped so many times that i couldn't ignore the ground anymore.

@Monorea: gravity is mean like that. Crushing your dreams, hopes and believes in seconds.

Well, I used to think we all peed through holes(like no difference between boys and girls down there).

@LordLucre: if you never saw the difference, then it isn’t too obvious

@LordLucre: I grew up seeing a female cousin and a male cousin a lot and I had a brother.
I know the difference of that pretty fast. I did think it would still grow on for girls.

I was convinced that the blank squares on a calendar were just extra days in the month- just in case you needed them.

Also, I first read this as convicted instead of convinced and was like holy cow! What did you guys do?? 🤣
