dude I was so damn happy when he told me where we were going lol my mom won't let me have sneks or lizzies but I love them so much I've done all kinds of research on them XD

it's mostly that they only interact with you when you're feeding them, so humans/hands = food. So, after a while...you cant reach in to pet them or pick them up, because hand = food = BITE

even if they're not poisonous or particularly large, snek teef can hurt lol

it's the same with dogs/cats/basically any animal; the less you interact with it outside of feeding time, the more wild it's going to get

that's why even zoos make sure that the animals are around the humans a fair bit, to make vet visits less painful for everyone involved

you should never force yourself to interact with an animal because they will sense how stressed you are and it will make them stressed, leading to an overall unpleasant interaction for you both
