"Thank you." Hal replied.

He then grabbed a key and ID badge for Liv, and they made their way through the corridors... which consisted of Hal walking, and using his mana to float Liv along... until they reached the dorm in question.

Once they were there, he let her in, and gave a mini-tour of the dorm area.

"The phone connects right to my office, too." he then said.

"So if you ever need me, call. And if I don't answer the office call, then call my cell." he finished.

Hal froze when he heard that.

"Ah... yes." he said.

"Yes, you do that." he told her.

"Sleep well." he finished, before they parted ways.

He shut the door softly, before starting to walk away. His stride then turned into a quicker walk, before it shortly turned into an outright run.

He rushed back to his office, and quickly stepped through the door.

"Haillie?" he asked when he entered, urgency in his tone.

".....Haillie, I need your help." Hal said.

"Olivia made a wish." he told her. "She said, and I quote, 'I wish Mom could get the help she needs too'..." he then informed her further.

"As a djinn, I am going to take that to mean she wishes her mother would start to regain her memory a LOT more quickly." he continued.

"But... she's lost her memory from that blasted book and pen." he then cursed. "I can't override it. I'm just one djinn." he lamented.

"...however, together, WE are TWO djinn." he then said, knowing she would know where he was going with it.

Hal just nodded and got to his feet as well.

"Right." he said, collecting his own mana.

"After we do this, we need to speak about your living arrangements." he told her.

"Syraene may have wished you free, but you still need a place to live." he said. "I'll see what I can do to try and find you a place where you can get the privacy you deserve, so you can work things out." he finished.

"Anyway, let's do this, Haillie." he then said.

"We should be able to override the book and pen together."

"....." Jake was silent, before his tongue darted out a few times.

"Uh.... huh." he muttered.

"That's... a good question." he said.

"Do I want to let you in..." he mumbled, thinking about it.

"Well, I suppose that depends." he admitted.

"Tell me about yourself." he told them.

"Who ARE you?"

"....woah, what the hell?" Jake muttered.

"Hey, I ID'd you right on the spot." he said. "I was wondering if YOU could properly ID yourself." he went on.

"Because... last I heard, you knew sweet eff all about yourself." he reasoned.

"Although your obvious attitude seems to prove the contrary..." he then went on, scratching his chin a little.

"All right, fine..." he said further, pressing the button.

"Go and see Agent Sharp." he told her.

"He should be able to tell you all you want to know."

Jake just sighed as Angela went inside.

"....lotta surprises as of late." he muttered to himself.

Meanwhile, Angela's journey to the office was an uninterrupted one, surprisingly. She made it there quickly, and the secretary was surprised to see her.

"...Agent Sharp, someone's here to see you." she said into the phone on her desk.

"It's Agent Edwards." she added, before there was silence, and she sighed.

"Feel free to enter now." she told Angela.

Hal looked... stunned, to say the least.

"Ah..." he stammered.

"I see." he said.

"Ah, very well then, please. Have a seat." he then offered.

"Let's hear your questions." he said further.

"I... will answer them to the best of my abilities." he finished.

'...did... the wish work...?' he wondered mentally.

"......that is NOT a simple question." Hal responded.

"If anything, that is the opposite of a simple question." he then said.

"But I'll give you the short answer." he continued, before pausing.

"He's in the medical wing, and has been there for the past few days." he informed her.

"And he hasn't answered his phone because, I'd wager, it's either dead, or muted, or turned off." he went on.

"He's... well, he's essentially been paralysed from nerve pain ever since he 'checked in' there."

"She is." Hal responded.

"She made her way here because... well... she didn't want to go back home and be alone." he told her.

He then sighed as well, and leaned back in his chair.

"...thank heavens." he muttered.

"I was wondering if that would actually work or not..." he mumbled to himself.
