Recently, I received an email saying I owe the company $1600. Apparently someone made a mistake and added $200 to my pay instead of subtracting 200 for parking. Anyway, so this went on for 8 months and they finally found out. I don't usually pay much attention to my pay since its direct deposited and I often do overtime so my checks fluctuate. I was just so flabbergasted but obviously its not my money so I have to pay back to the company. How I wish I can tell them off "too bad its mine now!*" >:D *sigh* life is so crazy sometimes...Just needed to rant about it.

Has something like this happen to you before?

Man that's a lot to have to pay back. I'm surprised they didn't offer to cover at least part of it since it was their error. What if you didn't have the money?

I saw on the news today that a bank accidentally put $100,000+ in a couple’s account, and they realized the mistake weeks later. They tried to call the couple, but they weren’t returning the calls. Turns out they took the money and bought a bunch of pricy stuff, and even gave some away to friends. xD The police tracked them down and now they’re facing felony charges AND they have to pay back all the money + overdraft charges.

I’m glad you didn’t knowingly take the money since the amount was similar to what it normally fluctuates between, but damn that sucks to deal with when it’s not your fault. ),x Hope you don’t have to pay the full amount in one payment.

Yeah I usually have some money on the side so I did have money to pay back but decided to just take it off my next couple paychecks. I know many people that live paycheck to paycheck so it would have been horrible if I didn't have enough money.
