@MoodyBats: I’ve had anxiety my whole life as far as I can remember. But my depression is a chemical imbalance that was brought on during puberty and I’ll have all my life. Avatar sites have really been helping me with my social anxiety. I’ve been getting better over the years.

@Lina: I'm not sure on my depression as i've never been diagnosed.
However just know I have it as depression in my family almost everyone has it.
It didn't really start acting up until I was 14 when my mom had a stroke. And just got worse and worse
the older I got.

My anxiety use to be not bad but lately been feeling like an outsider on avatar sites
and unwanted of some sort so i've been straying away from them.

@Another Movie Addict: hey there!! Insert yourself anywhere. ^^

@MoodyBats: what type of depression you have is really hard to diagnose. Basically they looked at my family history of depression and my teen onset and thought it could be chemical depression, ie my brain’s fault. So they thought I should try antidepressants, and they help a lot. I think chemical depression is often undiagnosed because it kinda creeps up on you naturally and you think that’s just who you are as a person. I’m lucky to have been diagnosed, living without meds was so much harder.

Plus I take Lexapro which has a little anti anxiety in it too which really helps me day to day.

@MoodyBats: I had to get free government health insurance because I don’t make enough to buy insurance. It’s a huge pain, but I’d be miserable otherwise.

@MoodyBats: I'm technically unemployed. (paid cash and I don't report it) so my insurance is free from the government. It's a lot of paperwork and time to keep it though. >.< sigh

@Lina: Idk if i can ever get a job from how many jobs require things i can't do.
So it feels like my only potential job would be art.
and yet getting paid for my art i would feel guilty for.

Tis very complicated. :vanora_cry:

@MoodyBats: why do you feel guilty getting paid for your art?

@Lina: because i don't have a real job.
in my family doing anything freelance is considered not a "real" job.

@MoodyBats: well that sounds silly. My dad was a freelance contractor, he built and repaired homes. And freelance or not, it was worth paying for. Art is just the same.

@Lina: unfortunately i feel utterly useless and guilty quite often. :vanora_sweat:
But whatever it's probably just an anxiety thing and maybe i'll get over it one day.

@MoodyBats: some of my anxiety seems to be getting better as I get older. In general I care less what strangers think of me, which helps immensely! I feel like to some degree my anxiety was a fear of not being good enough and trying to be perfect all the time. But as I get older I’m just like, eh.

I used to have to worst self esteem and would do like basically affirmations like “I’m amazing” “I’m awesome” “I’m the best” and even though I didn’t really believe it I said it. And I think I literally started to believe it at some point. I don’t know why, but it actually worked.

@Lina: i don't really care what people think of me.
But i just have been dealing with many guilt issues.

Even when I am sick i feel guilty for being sick.
