No switching teams so use your mule for the other team. Or trade items with someone on the other team.
Event items are unlocked with the games in one of the npc threads.

The pieces should lock to the canvas. Which browser are you using.
@Usagi: Try clearing your catch and then a hard refresh of the browsers. You do that bye CTRL F5.
