Jaden had gathered Desiree's clothing and was washing it, thinking about something while it was going through the cycle.

"Hm." he mumbled.

He then made his way to the bathroom door and called in.

"Desiree!? Hungry!?" he asked.

"Want me to order in something?" he asked further.

No response.

"...maybe she's just under the water..." he mumbled, before waiting and knocking again.

And again.

Until he got worried something had happened, built up the courage in his mind, and... face pink from blushing... opened the door slightly and peeked inside.

He peeked in, just in time to see Desiree surface again having having been rinsing her hair. He couldn't tell if it was because she'd just washed her hair, or if it was because she was getting it wet to wash. As she came up, she didn't seem to notice Jaden there before getting as comfy as she couldm, again, by leaning back agains tthe slanted tub.

Jaden cleared his throat, loudly, to get her attention... only to find that did nothing. He tried again, which again net ntohing, before sighing and reaching to the shelf near the door. He grabbed a bath bead and tossed it into the water.

That got Desiree's attention.

She jumped before looking around, quickly finding Jaden at the door.

". . . . I... give me a few to dry off and whatnot, and I'll meet you out there." She said with a soft smile, and a flushed face (although, that could have been because of the heat of the water and room).

Jaden's face was flushed as well, and he shook his head.

"No, no, no, no, no!" he insisted.

"You don't need to get out! You haven't been in there for that long, actually." he went on.

"I was just curious if you wanted something to eat." he continued.

"I can order in whatever you're feeling like having." he said further.

"I'm so sorry I interrupted, but you weren't responding when I knocked and called in." he quickly apologised.

"Either get out and wait, or come in so I can actually see your face, will you?" Desiree asked, not responding to the question he wanted the answer to.

"Huh? Uh... well... I'll just... I'll wait for you in the den area, then." Jaden said, his voice super confused before he puleld his head back and closed the door, wondering what the hell that was all about.

Sure enough, about ten minutes later, Desiree stepped into the room, her hair tied back (aside from her fringe), and looking far more presentable than she had before.

"All right, what was all that about, Jaden?" She asked with a smile as she sat down on the couch near him.

"I'm SO sorry." Jaden apologised.

"I interrupted, and I know I said you didn't have to get out right away, but I must've messed up your mojo in there and I'm really sorry." he apologised further.

"I just wanted to know if you were hungry, and I could order something in, but you didn't answer my knocking or calling in, so I got worried something might have happened, so I peeked in, BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING!" he rambled on, before stressing the last part.

"But you didn't answer again, so I tossed the bath bead, and interrupted, I'm sorry, you were probably just so comfy and stuff and I interrupted..." he continued, his face going a bit red, and he was getting QUITE flustered.

A polar opposite to his stage presence and attitude, to say the least.

He then just heaved a heavy sigh of resignation. One that seemed to say 'I am SO awkward...'

"Jaden, it's all right." Desiree told him.

"I know you didn't see anything. IT was too dark in there to properly see much." She continued.

"But please, calm down. It's all right, really." She added with a soft smile.

"As for your question regarding food, I could definitely eat. Now that I'm not hurting so much." She then said with a light breath that barely counted as a sigh.

"Rene is a miracle worker, but even he can only go so far." She added

Jaden was silent for a moment, before sighing quietly.

"All right." he said.

"Cool." he said further.

"And yeah, I know. Rene's amazing, but he's not some deity or anything." he agreed with her. "Still. He can do quite a bit." he muttered.

"Regardless, food." he then said, changing the topic.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"Feeling like having anything in particular?"

"I'm ... not too picky." Desiree told him honestly.

"However, a good pasta could be nice." She added. "It's been a bit since I've had."

"... best I tend to get is just prepackaged crap." She admitted. "So ... quality paste would be lovely. I rarely get." She paused a moment before sighing.

"Ah, right. No seafood."

"Eh?" he muttered.

"Ah... all right, then." he said.

"Good pasta? I can do that." he told her.

"But... no seafood?" he then asked.

"All right... not an issue... why, though?" he asked further.

"Allergic - to the point of anaphylaxis - to shellfish." Desiree answered honestly.

"So I cut all seafood out because sometimes it's a risk to even have tuna." She added.

"So yeah. No seafood."

Jaden's eyes widened a little when he heard that.

"Ah... I..." he stammered.

"Oh... wow." he said.

"I... that..." he stammered further, before shaking his head.

"Right." he said further.

"Got it. No seafood." he repeated.

He then started to think about something... and seemed a little on the confused side.

Desiree paused a moment, debating how long she'd be there. Was it really worthwhile to tell him? Well, there was already somthing about him that she knew, even if he didn't know she did, so she figured that a secret for a secret was fair.

"Oh, so I could read your lips." She told him honestly.

"I'm deaf."

"Ah-whu?" he mumbled.

"Deaf?" he asked.

"You need to read lips...?" he stammered, before shaking his head.

"But you wear headphones. Or at least, you did, before they got busted." he commented.

"And you have earbuds." he went on.

"Those aren't hearing aides, so how do you use them?" he asked her.

"Ah, but they are." Desiree told him with a light laugh.

"Seriously." She added. "It's why I said no when you offered to replace them. They are custom made for me, which wasn't a lie, by a friend." She continued as she took one of the wireless buds out of her ears, made sure nothing was on it, and tossed it over so he could take a look.

"You literally can't pay to replace them." She commented. "I have these and the headset. Both with bluetooth and other things."

Jaden caught the bud, and looked it over. He examined it closely, checking it over, and then looking a bit surprised.

"....huh." he said.

"Wow. It... really IS a hearing aide." he commented.

"That... is so cool." he continued, lightly tossing it back to her.

"Seriously. That's awesome. I've never seen anything like that before." he went on.

"Anyway, you said you want pasta?" he asked.

"I'll order some in... well, within the hour." he chuckled.

Desiree caught it before returning it to her ear.

"Connects to my phone, which is absolutely wonderful." She told him. "Also vibrates lightly when I get a notice of some sort, since I can't always hear it, so I know there IS a notice."

"Oh, and it's why I prefer texting over calls, obviously."

Jaden nodded in response.

"I getcha." he told her.

He then waved his arm, and a couple of seconds later, a takeaway menu flitted down onto Desiree's lap from a hole in the ceiling that closed shortly after.

"Take a look." he said.

"That's the place I usually order from when I get Italian." he said further.

"Lemme know if you see something that tickles your tastebuds."

Desiree looked up at the closing portal and chuickled lightly.

"Portal user. You're a rare breed." She commented.

"More common than it used to be, as far as I'm aware, but still quite uncommon." She added after a moment or two before starting to flip through the menu.

"What do you recommend?"
