@Tsundererra: Mine are the opposite with carrots. They like Spinach, and Kale too. I've tried carrots, strawberries and apple and they don't like any of those. I would string up regular cheerios on a string and hang it in the cage, and they'd eat it. If I put a dish in the cage with just cheerios, they'd pick them up and drop them on the floor lol.
My parakeets are scared of apples and strawberries too! The only time they try it is when they see my green cheek chomping on it, but even then they don’t see overly fond of it. They do the same thing with Cheerios if I put them in a bowl. I’m gonna try to string them up next time and see how they react.
Have you tried giving your parakeets corn? That is my flock’s favorite veggie to chomp on for some reason.[/color]
