Most of my fishing experience was also paired with ‘going to the beach’ and I hate sand so very very much so that probably has something to do with my dislike of fishing as well haha.

Oh noooo I can’t even imagine never having gone to the beach! I live relatively close to the ocean so it was a pretty common occurence growing up. Not like every weekend but at least once a year.

The lake might actually be pretty similar depending on how much sand it has on it’s shores! I’ve definitely been ‘to the beach’ that wasn’t at the ocean but may as well have been because of the amount of sand. Mostly that was on rivers though, not as many lakes around where I am.
