『Nah they’re bbcode plus css on top without a wsiwyg editor. But they’re custom-parsing the css so certain properties (like position or float) get stripped out if you try to use them.

Like when you're reading, you imagine an appearance and how people sound and...I haven't really heard favourable things about the movie either...I'm not sure if I'll watch it, still on the fence haha. Was defs one of my fave book series back in school tho

『That’s totally fair. It was terrible but not in the way I expected it to be terrible haha. The actual plot/story changes they made were really well done. I think that’s the bit the author had a say in because even though it was definitely different from the original it was a really smart and good way to combine some of the plots from the first few books into one movie without losing a whole lot about the personality or relationships between the characters.
Whoever had final call on some of the costume design and the actor direction was terrible. All of the characters were at best slightly off and at worst not even remotely portrayed the way they should have been. And it felt extra weird because the lines/writing should have allowed for them to act correctly and they just didn’t.
So if changing the characters in your head is what you’re worried about I would give it a pass!
