"Considering I'm both always there, and they have a contract with Dad regarding all of it and whatnot." She added.

"Beyond that, I'll see you soon. Meet you there in fifteen or so."

Nate just chuckled.

"That's true." he said.

"See you in a bit." he told her.

After clearing it with Angela, he left the building and hopped on his electric bike, leaving the parking garage and making his way to the cafe in question. Once he arrived, he noticed there was still about 3 or so minutes before she showed up, so he parked it and sighed quietly.

"Might as well go inside." he reasoned.

So he did. He didn't order anything yet, just waved to the one on cashier duty, and sat down in their favourite booth. He then proceeded to wait for her, debating how all to bring this up.

He didn't want this to be disjointed and potentially misleading.

he was waiting for about five minutes before the one he was waiting for arrived. She was easy to identify, what with having teal hair that reached her shoulderblades and flared out a bit at the end. When she saw Nate, she waved and made her way over, the shades over her eyes hiding what he knew was there quite well.

"Yo." She said, but didn't sit down.

"Y'ordered yet?" She asked, her voice curious as she set her bag down acrossf rom him.

"I'll go put it in if you haven't. Just tell me what you want."

"One of those cinnamon rolls. Extra glaze." he told her.

"Oh, and an iced cappuccino." he continued.

"...yeah, that should do it." he finished with a nod.

"I'll still be here when you get back." he chuckled.

"Sure thing. Back in a few." She said before heading off. Sure enough, a few minutes later, she returned, drinks - and roll - in hand.

"here ya go." She said, setting the stuff down with a chuckle. she realised that it wa slikely shocking she was so adept and skilled with carrying things so well... despite being blind.

"Thanks, by the way. I needed out of there. I swear, Dad hires dumbasses sometimes." She commented as she slid into the seat across from him.

"And thanks." he said, gesturing to the roll and drink.

"Anyway..." he then muttered.

"You think you could possibly build a fully functioning prosthetic arm?" he asked her, jumping right into it.

".... I could probably code one, not a problem." She commented. "I did an entire AI after all." She then said before shrugging.

"As for the hardware aspect, I.... am not sure, admittedly." She then said.

"If Leo's game, probably?"

"Could you talk to him?" Nate asked.

He then sighed and gave her more details. Specifically about Izea, the life she'd had, how things had been, and what had recently happened to her, and how she had to lose her arm anyway.

"So... yeah, she's not been having a good time of it." he muttered.

"To say the least." he continued.

"But yeah, think you and Leo might be able to help?" he asked.

"It'd be really amazing for her."

She listened, taking some notes on her tablet, as he spoke.

"... Probably?" She answered.

"Honestly, I can't say for certain. I know I could code up and get something to cooperate with nerves, yeah. That won't be hard." She continued.

"The actual hardware though... I'll talk ot Leo and get back to you. I don't see why we couldn't do it though, as Chloe's a prime example of what we CAN do." She added, not entirely sure if he had met the android yet or not.

"Chloe!" he remembered.

"Wait..." he mumbled. "That was a collaborative effort between you and Leo?" he asked.

"That is actually really amazing." he told her.

"Seriously, that is a new level of awesome."

"And you're just an all-around amazing person." he went on.

"I know THAT from personal experience." he chuckled.

"I've been studying as much as I can, and then some." he told her.

"I just hope I pass." he went on.

"Seriously. And even then, if you fail, you have to remember one thing. Angela - your immediate boss - was nothing more than a nurse when she was hired. Dad helped her go through school and get her full degree. So long as you prove yourself, I'm quite certain he'd help you too." she added, making plans.

Before debating it for long, she grabbed her phone and sent a quick text.

Hey Dad, may I utilise your abilities for a moment? It's something pretty big, and important, but... if you say no, it's not the end fo the world.

"I really want all my work to be for... well... something." he said further, before shaking his head and clearing his throat a little.

"Sorry, that went to a kind of depressing place." he chuckled.

That was when she received a response.

"I completely get it." She assured him.

"I really do hope you pass the first time. Even if you just scrape by, just passing would be lovely, no?" She asked before replying to the text.

I wish for Nate to have an easier time recalling the information he already knows for his exams. If at all possible....? She sent, and he could almost hear the hesitance in asking to her words, as if she had actually verbally asked him. Then again, he just knew her that well.

"I do, too." Nate replied, before pausing.

"I'll be right back, I need to use the washroom briefly." he told her, before excusing himself and heading into the facilities in question.

That was when she received a call from her father.

"This will be easier than a massive set of texts." he reasoned when she answered.

"And I'm sorry, but I draw the line at such... direct interference... with studies." he told her. "I know you're technically asking for me to just improve his memory, but that would most likely be temporary, and we don't know if that would lead to him passing when he shouldn't have." he went on.

"However, I WOULD be able, and easily so, to calm his nerves and allow him to focus more easily, if you think THAT would help." he then offered. "I can sympathise with nerves and panic causing someone to unnecessarily under-perform." he then told her.

"So while I cannot technically improve his performance for his exams, I CAN make sure he is at his peak form for them, if that makes sense."
