I only like celery by itself if it's peeled - which, I guess, defeats the purpose of celery...??

I suspect some people taste it differently than others because I also cannot stand celery. Even if it's chopped up real small and put into stuff I just... would rather not.
@sunny: i only like celery if its in my vegetable soup.. i couldnt eat a stick of it raw.. eww XD

I like it in soups or salads and other dishes. I wouldn't really eat it raw by itself unless dipped in ranch or peanut butter tho. I think bc it tastes like it's missing something?? like it's too much of one flavor on its own?

It may very well be that I've never had a good celery, but I have never had any that wasn't reminiscent of eating soap. Even in soup I can taste it.

Celery dipped in peanut butter? Thats unheard of here XD sounds gross
I did some reading and apparently there is a genetic disposition that makes certain foods very bitter to some but not to others. These can include broccoli, celery, and/or cilantro. Probably others, those were just the 3 that came up most often. Personally I like broccoli and cilantro though so I'm not tasting whatever's there. XD

I like celery unless I grab a batch that's more bitter than sweet, but for some reason I don't often think about eating it on its own. It's a great ingredient and a great snack! YUM!
