Yes, that sounds normal - the juices and the smell is a little different than cooking chicken or other things. One trick is to keep the ground turkey in bigger clumps as you cook it and not move it around too much, otherwise it can dry out. It cooks pretty quickly, actually (especially if you can't leave it alone (like me) and end up with smaller pieces cooking in the pan)

Sage! It likes sage too, in terms of spices.

@Wildfire: aren't most days nice there? Like really warm? You will have plenty of time to make the most of it lol!

@sunny: Yes, most days here are pretty warm. Today it's actually "cool" (about 85*F/30*C and low humidity, which makes ALL the difference!), which is partly why it feels so nice and why it seems like I should be taking better advantage of the weather!

Ok, the stirfry isn't that bad actually. I added a bit of brown sugar and more sesame oil... the texture of ground turkey is throwing me off severely tho lol

@Wildfire: o I see. Maybe go for a nice walk? I am used to miserable weather, 30 degrees C sounds like the peak of summer xD

@0v7: LOL! <3 You can always turn it into a taco/burrito thing. Or one of my favorite things is to mix it with greens (sauteed, massaged, or raw) + nuts/seeds + some pieces of roasted root vegetables. It sounds like a weird combination but it's really good and really satisfying!

@sunny: Yes, this is the land of perpetual summer :3 but believe me - this is cool and comfortable compared to the dead of (Florida) summer! It's really the lack of humidity that makes the difference here.

@Wildfire: ...This stuff's actually hurting my mouth. I think something I used in it went bad. >_>;;
It would explain why it tastes off.

@Wildfire: yeah I can't stand high humidity. I think I would perish if I had to live in Florida lol.

@0v7: oh no! That's not good at all. I'm sorry :(
What did you do with it? What did you use?

@Wildfire: Browned the turkey, then added steamed broccoli. Then, I added rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic powder, and pepper. Later I added brown sugar and more sesame oil by reheating the stuff in a pan and stirring it in. I'm not sure what exactly went bad, but my mouth feels WEIRD.

@sunny: LOL - just never, ever, ever come here during July or August for any reason - it's absolutely brutal, even for those of us who live here all the time. December - April is usually very nice, though... which is why more than half the north american continent (and who knows what percentage of the rest of the world) is usually here! XD

@0v7: This is purely instinctual, but the rice vinegar and the sesame oil, maybe? It doesn't often take much for sesame oil to go off, and combined with the vinegar...? plus the sugar...? -shrugs- :(

@Wildfire: I think so too - the rice vinegar is more likely the culprit, since I had just opened the sesame oil a week ago. The brown sugar was fine, probably. Gonna go toss that rice vinegar >_>

Also, I might say screw it and buy a butt ton of tofu. I like tofu at least.

it takes a lot for vinegar to go bad... since it basically already is "bad" (fermented/highly acidic). It might be the combination of the vinegar + the sugar + the oil.

I'm sorry your experience with the turkey didn't turn out so well :(

@Wildfire: LOL I have heard it's a very popular tourist destination. Mostly because of Disney etc. I would like to visit one day, but idk if I'd be brave enough to get on an aeroplane again xD

@sunny: brave enough for an airplane - because of covid? Yes, there are a LOT of tourists who come here. I have been at the beaches or in some of the parks and heard as many different languages spoken as I did when we were in Rome.

@0v7: oh no! You just bought that, didn't you?
