@Ava: Yeah, I just went looking for a pic after posting that, lol.

I wanted to put black film over the back to hide the light and make it more spooky. And I wanted a lot more 'plants' but never got that far.

And ah, yeah, that makes sense, don't wanna make the little one sick!

I'd love to find an event of some sort for Halloween around here; there probably is stuff but of the three and a half or so years I've lived here, half of it has been during the pandemic, which I imagine has cut down on that sort of thing. It's a pretty major city though so I bet if I really looked I'd find some stuff to do. I just hate going out alone and don't really have any local friends.

And yeah! I used to adore the events on the smaller avatar sites back in the day, they were so much fun. Even if it's just chatting all night about bad horror movies, I'm happy, lol.

Edit: Ha! It's not candy corn, but I did just come across this!

@Ava: At the time of the photo, I had a red betta veiltail living in it. I've had a bunch of bettas; six at my peak (with two of those being special needs). I really miss having bettas but it's not cheap to get all the stuff needed to start a new tank with heater and filter and everything, and I had to get rid of my fish stuff when I moved from California. I'll try to set up a new tank eventually but not until I can do it right.

You might be able to get it delivered, you can always try! It is cute.

I have plenty of friends, it's just... no one lives near me. ;3; And I don't go out much so I don't make friends in-person all that often. Honestly, all of my long term close friends are people I met online. We're talking knowing these people for up to 20 years in some cases.

Thank god for the internet, honestly.

I've never played DND; I've done roleplaying, but not the dice and stats kind, more the 'collective story-writing' type.

@CooperationIsKey: DoorDash folks do have a car :3 XD

@Purpsy: I have no idea if the high-waisted jeans here will tuck in shirts. Have you experimented? What's the verdict?

@Ava: Oh, Ava! I'm sorry that you didn't end up getting that role! But if you look on the bright side of things, you're getting closer and closer to actually landing that role, right? You were right there, right?

@Ava: It sounds like your agent is supportive and encouraging, and excited. He seems to see something in you that's marketable, even if it's hard for you to see sometimes, especially in the face of rejection (such is the life of us Creatives! XD )

@Another Movie Addict: Congrats... but how did that work out, exactly?

Well I got sick the 17th and ten days later, is gone. ^w^

LOL! Yes, the 10 day rule - you are no longer infectious. You may, however, still be having symptoms. But you really confused me with the line about getting tested again and (it sounded like because of the retest) no longer having it.

Don't really have symptoms anymore, but this test came back negative.

Interesting that you got a negative test, given that you just had covid

-shrugs- I just see it like this. I started showing symptoms on the 17th, thinking it wasn't covid. Then my mom had a positive from her 17th test, even though she got sick on the 6th/7th while I was away at the con. Because of the positive, I went to get tested Monday. But that was already after having had it for a minute. And now my negative this morning. That it just ran its course.

oh? What new movies do you have?
Did you watch that "Man Eating Sofa" movie?

I have not watched the killer sofa movie yet, I might do that tonight. But I got Beyond the Mask, I have no idea what it's about. It just looked really interesting. The Last Showing which is some horror movie with Robert Englund(Freddy Kruger) in it. And a compilation of Night of the Living Dead, House on Haunted Hill, Dementia 13, Night of Bloody Horror, The Brain That Wouldn't Die, and Nosferatu.

Isn't Beyond the Mask a take, or reboot, or something dealing with the Man in the Iron Mask? I don't really know. I am aware that it came across my field of awareness a few times recently - probably ads on netflix or something /eyeroll/

I think I saw Nosferatu - or part of it. It was pretty bad, if it's the same one I'm thinking of. You'd probably love it XD

Quite a collection of horror flicks you picked up!!

I'm not sure, it could be. Now that I'm clean from a nice shower, I might pick one of the new ones to watch.

Nosferatu is a very very old movie. Silent, like released in 1922. It's what helped usher in the idea of horror movies really.

>w> I did pick up a lot of horror. Some of them are like bad movie legends, like The Brain That Wouldn't Die. That one has a Mystery Science Theater 3000 episode.

@Another Movie Addict: Oh! You have the old version!! I think they did a remake or something of Nosferatu - that's the one I was referencing^^. I saw the original black and white film years and years ago... <3

Yes, the Brain that Wouldn't Die - I think we caught that one in a MST episode somewhere along the way.
