I don't often buy stuff for myself, but since I had some money left and to keep myself
from getting inactive fees by the bank I decided to buy a new sketchbook with some new erasers
as I want to get better with traditional art and crack down on my studies.

I'm super excited for my supplies to arrive.
The erasers should be he Wednesday and Sketchbook by Friday.
I bought a very large size of the Strathmore hardbound which is 11x14 lol.
I underestimated the size BUT i did want something big so I wouldn't draw so much and quickly finish it.
it has about 192 pages. So hopefully it lasts me a while and helps me study better.

I also plan to put some stickers on it...particularly ones I've made. To help motivate me. :vanora_xd:

Eventually I would love to get the mixed media or watercolor strathmore hardbound sketchbook
so I can buy my jelly gouache and begin practicing that and going outside of digital art.
Though the non-dry media sketchbooks were a bit out of my range. :vanora_sweat:

Are ya ready, guyz?!

Ooh I like Strathmore too. Pricey, but at Michael's they go on sale fairly regularly and mom's employee discount never hurts

Put ya guns awn!

@Totalanimefan: im very excited for it.
It should be arriving today or tomorrow for everything.

But i can't wait to get it. Cause the size is huge lol.
and I don't buy myself let alone for my art hobby ever.
most i've been buying is things like vitamins. :vanora_sweat:

So it feels nice to buy myself something for once.

Omg, jelly gouache look like the greatest thing ever invented. I could watch videos of people using them all day. I wish they weren’t so expensive, I’d love to try

@Totalanimefan: I probably wont.
as my phone camera is very cheap so it won't really come out good or hardly visible. :vanora_sweat:

@Lina: so sorry did not see your post until now.

Some brands are not super expensive with jelly gouache.
Himi and Artxx are inexpensive and come with 18-24 colors.
Their only around $25-30 for them. Which is about the same price almost for Arteza's gouache.
and a lot less expensive than brands like Holbein.
tho i want holbein lol.

it would be sort of expensive for me since i rarely make income from my art :vanora_sweat:
one of my best friend's literally be my source of income lol.
so trying to not let her help me too much cause she's already done so much for me lol

I’ve never made money off my art except volts or other avatar site currency. XD
Drawing avatars is my number 1 inspiration tho

@Lina: I kinda do not have a choice but to try to make money off my art.
cause my dad is jobless since pandemic.

So i've basically trying to keep us afloat in case we need anything like vitamins.

@MoodyBats: it’s amazing that you can make money off your art! I don’t think anyone would want to buy mine. XD

@Lina: im honestly not really making any
since my good friend has been the only one i've gotten commissioned by.

But i just need to do a good amount of art and better promoting my work.
I'm hoping the monthly challenge I plan to do will help.

That sounds like a good idea.
I’m amazed by the amount of art I see for sale online, I’m sure you can do it too!

@Lina: tho for small artists that makes it even harder lol.
and algorithims too... instagram...is the devil. :vanora_unamused:

But im excited for my monthly prompt cause i have some cute concepts.

That sounds like fun!

I do hate that already popular things seem to get the most attention online. I want to find new Andy discovered things

@Lina: i try not to go with trends cause they're usually temporary.
but i also don't want to only do fanart as if i get followers for that if i suddenly don't
it's an unfollow.

so it's tricky to play with the algorithims lol.

@MoodyBats: yes, I know what you mean. I know a lot of online artists who feel like they have to do a certain amount of fan art and trends just to keep their followers. I don’t like that. If you get inspired by a trend that’s great! But you should do what you want without losing followers; they should want to support all your art.

@Lina: yeah i agree.
and then i lost like 5 just because i did not have anything to post for 2 weeks loll.

It's tricky.
But i am excited for all my pinktober concepts im doing.
even if they go unseen i will see them as a win because it's pushed me to draw more
full bodies and experiment with my art.

@Lithium: My sketchbook arrived a few days ago
but waiting on my erasers.
Says it will not arrive until tuesday tho. :vanora_cry:

I don't often buy art supplies cause im mostly a digital artist
but I am wanting to go deep into the art studies and improve traditional work.

tho i very much underestimated the size of the sketchbook lmao.
But it'll last ages at least lol.

@MoodyBats: I mean, I hate that behavior. As a follower of artists I’m excited for them whenever they post anything, but without pressure to keep to a certain style or schedule.
I think art is something that has to come to you, you know. You can’t force it and have it be good.

It’s great that you’re challenging yourself though! That sounds exciting!
