He then disappeared from where he was, just as Lucas came back.

"He just leave?" he asked.

"Yeah." Kelly responded.

"All right. Anyway, my parents said it's cool." he told her.

"...and Mom said she'd love to eviscerate a Fallen. Like... she had creepy glee in her tone when she said it." he then added.

"I'm going to pop back home and make sure they're cool with it." She then said.

"But thanks babe. Good to know your parents are cool with my hanging around for who knows how long." She added with a laugh as she stepped up to him and gave him a hug.

"And yes, I'm bringing the sword with me. I'll be back quick as I can."

"Got it." he said.

"Want me to teleport you there or are you going, yourself?" he asked.

"Because I know I can get you onto the roof of your place, at least." he chuckled.

"Nahh, I'm just gonna use my fire mana." Kelly told him.

"My sword agrees with my mana, at least. And I don't want to fly because... well... I feel like I'm a monstrously large target atm." She told him simply before making sure she had everything for this trip.

"anyway, I'll be back. Love you, and I'll see you soon." After he said his farewells, she used her mana to vanish from where she was, appearing in her bedroom back home.

She left her room and headed upstairs, wondering where anyone was. She knew her mother wouldn't be back for a bit, as she was off on a hunt, but she wasn't sure about anyone else.

When she was gone, Lucas just looked around, before staring at the vegetation around the house.

"..." he was silent, before sighing quietly.

"Things will get worse before they get better, I just know it..." he mumbled.

Meanwhile, as Kelly headed up stairs, she heard her father groaning a little, and heard Casey talking to him, before he called out to her.

"Kell!" he shouted out.

"That you!?"

"Hey Kelly. I assume Zeke found you?" Casey asked when she reached them.

"He did." Kelly answered with a nod.

"And holy hell that was a bomb that was dropped." She added.

"Just a little. You ok?" Casey asked.

"Yeah, I think so." Was the answer the younger woman gave.

"How're you faring, Dad?"

Ash looked at Kelly as the two women had their conversation, before sighing.

"Better than before." he said. "...which, admittedly, isn't a high bar to surpass..." he then mumbled.

"Overall, I have pain shooting through my body, and it hurts to move certain things, but at least I don't feel like I'm going to split apart." he commented. "And I can actually move my arm and shoulder." he added.

"Hurts like hell to do it, but at least it's doable." he muttered.

"Anyway, so you know what's happening." he then said. "Or, at least, what the theory is." he corrected himself.

"Yep." Kelly replied.

"So what is your plan from here?" Ash asked her. He already had ideas as to what was best, but he was willing to hear her out if she had her own, and weigh it against what HE was thinking.

"Correction." he said. "You WILL be easy to get ahold of, as long as you stay at the draydin's home." he said further.

"Casey told me that the banging on the door earlier was Zeke, and it was because he couldn't get through to your phone." he continued.

"And I'm guessing it was dead." he continued.

"AGAIN." he stressed.

"So we'll call Lucas if we want to get in touch with you reliably. Unless you'll remember to keep your phone charged?"

"I think the battery is failing on it. I swear it was fully charged 2 hours ago." She added.

"Ask Lucas. I had it plugged in, and told him that 'it shouldn't die when someone needs me anytime soon' because it was fully charged, and showed him. He had a good laugh about it too."

He then looked at Casey.

"We still have any spare phone batteries?" he asked.

"I know... or think, at least... we got a spare one for Kelly when she got her phone, and I'm pretty sure she shares a phone type with Evan, so if there's any HE left behind, she can use that." he reasoned.

"You know for certain?" he asked further.

"Because it won't do to have a phone that cuts out and/or dies for no reason." he told Kelly.

"Worst case scenario, I'll send Leo your way." She added. "But, we WILL be going through Luke to get ahold of you for now. So make sure he keeps his phone charged, k?" She asked her neice.
