"...I see." Jake mumbled.

"Ah... hm." he then muttered.

"Is a demon... ALWAYS a Fallen's destiny, or can they be redeemed?" he asked her.

"And is it too late once they become a demon?" he then asked further.

"Sorry, this is... all new, and fascinating, to me."

"Ah." Jake replied.

"Makes sense." he said.

"So... is there any way you can use that to help find where they are?" he asked.

"Or their leader or something?"

"...hm." Jake mumbled.

"Being caught up in that madness." he said.

"...are you saying there's a chance you'll end up allying yourself with them?" he asked her.

"Because if you do, they may very well become unstoppable." he said further.

"...but you're willing to?" he then inquired.

Jake was silent and just put his head back.

"...greeeeat." he said.

"I hate to admit it, but you have a point." he told her.

"...and we need to take any chance we have." he continued.

"I don't want to lose you." he admitted.

"But... as you said, the way things are going, it's an inevitability."

Jake looked at her, before reaching over and putting his hand on her shoulder.

"Even trying is something." he said.

"...and I'll be there with you." he told her.

"I'll try to keep you... well... you." he went on.

"Not sure what I'll be able to do, but... it'll be worth it if I can keep you 'sane', so to speak." he reasoned.

"I don't want to lose you in ANY way."

Jake looked shocked when she said that.

"I... I figured you weren't." he said. "But... where?" he asked. "Where are you going to do it?" he asked her.

They were both silent for a moment, before he sighed. Hard.

"You're....... not going to tell me. Are you?" he asked rhetorically, before taking out his phone.

Anya says she can get to the stronghold where all of this is being spearheaded. he sent.

Says we might lose her to their side in the process. he then warned.

"Well, don't go alone!" Jake then said.

"And I don't mean ME." he told her.

"Surely you know others that can fight them. Seriously." he went on.

"With your connections, you HAVE to know people that can fight them. Or take them on. Or SOMETHING." he reasoned.

"...right?" he asked, as his cell chimed.

Then we need to talk with her. NOW. the response read.

As she spoke, Jake was sending Hal what she was saying.

"But it's surely too risky to do it alone." he told her.

"Seriously. What about the other archangels?" he asked.

"Isn't Ash Fyrane a candidate? I think you've mentioned him once or twice in the past." he said further.

"Going alone surely WILL be suicide!"

"...." again, Jake was silent, before texting Hal all this.

On the other end, Hal made note of this, and made plans to tell Ash of what was happening.

But back with Jake, he just sighed.

"I see..." he said.

"There is absolutely no way to change your mind about this, is there?" he asked.

"You sound pretty stubborn right now."

Jake narrowed his eyes as he got one last message from Hal.

Ash will be meeting with Anya VERY soon. it read.

Jake then pocketed his phone, and shook his head.

"Well... at least we'll have SOME time together before you go all lone wolf." he sighed.

"Do YOU prefer food or sex before this happens?" he asked.
