"Where do you want to discuss this?" he asked.

"Probably not here, but someplace more private." he went on.

"My office?" he asked.

"I've got some Nightwatch blend if that's any enticement."

"Lead the way." was all Sydney said, motioning for him to do just that.

"Grabbing a smoothie first?" she asked. "I know you like Nai's." She added with a light laugh.

That wasn't hard to ebleive though, as they all did. Everyone liked Nailah's smoothies, it's why she was so perfect for there.

"....." AJ was silent for a moment, and then sighed.

"...yes. I am." he mumbled.

"It's become a habit now whenever I finish any sparring." he admitted, as he took a small detour to the smoothie bar that had been installed in the rather large area.

He approached the bar and looked at the woman behind it.

"My usual." he said.

"...more raspberry this time, though."

The black furred woman just grinned.

"Gotcha." She said, her accent rather apparent, but not overwhleming.

She just leaned forward, her elbows on the counter, her split tail behind her making the drink in question.

"You bet that I couldn't do this." She then said. "Let's see how your smoothie ends up without my looking."

AJ raised an eyebrow at her when she said what she did, before smirking in return.

"I remember. 200 bucks." he said.

"I'll up it to 500 if you don't get any fur in it." he told her.

"So let's see it." he continued.

He sounded confident as well, but was wondering if she really WAS that good.

"No fur? easy." Was the black furred feline's response.

"I don't get any fur into the smoothies I make normally." She added. "Aside from for those that piss me off." She added. As she spoke, her split tail was doing wonders. he AJ was watching, it looked like she was using her hands with how deftly she was doing it. If one said her split tail was prehensile, they would be seriously understating it.

"You want anything, Vyn?" She then asked, looking to the vampire.

"Nah. AJ promised me some coffee." was Sydney's answer.

"... Fair. Just as well, my coffee mix hasn't arrived yet anyway." Nailah commented with a sigh.

"I I don't know what's going on, but it's obvious that something is going on, and it's so infuriating. It's about two weeks late by this point."

Ash rolled his eyes at her 'nyah' comment.

"Hey, my BROTHER'S the one with the cat fetish, NOT me." he told her, before grabbing the drink, seemingly scrutinising it intensely for a few seconds, and then taking a drink of it.

"Ahhh damn it." he muttered, as he took his wallet out of his pocket, thumbed through the bills in it, and then placed 5 hundreds on the bar, in front of her.

"Bet lost." he said.

"Damn good smoothie, though." he added, taking another drink.

"Seems like a decent enough guy if YOU think he's worth getting involved with." he continued. "Seeing as you seem to have a very... discerning... taste in partners." he added at the end.

He then looked at Sydney and nodded.

"All right, let's go." he told her. "Sorry about that delay." he apologised.

The two then made their way to his office, where they shut the door behind them, locked it, and he gestured to his small coffeemaker, where Sydney saw a small bag of the roast in question.

"All right." he mumbled, making his way to the desk.

"What's the Triad want with a hunter?" he asked.

"One," Sydney started as she set the dagger down on his desk, "Him and his mother have been throns in the sides of the magic world for years." She told him honestly, starting to get some beans perking.

"And two, someone that my son has taken an interest in was very nearly killed by Deryck McCormick, the one who owned this blade." She continued

"So yes, I want him gone. Him and his mother, because he's hunter born, she isn't but has fallen into the life."
