First off, I would like to say I am a digital artist, but I do not use an art tablet, nor can I afford one.
So I draw by using wireless mouse.
Secondly I deeply apologize if this is the wrong section for this.

Alright, so I have been working hard on this art piece for the last month.
But the lineart just does not come out how I wish it would.
Probably because I don't use a tablet and most programs go by pen pressure[or so a friend of mine who is studying to be a manga artist has told me].

I use paint tool sai and Medibang pro if that helps with anything.
My art canvas is about 2000x12000
And obviously too small just looks really off. But I used a size 4 pencil tool with the texture dirt but i feel size 4 is too thick.
And I am just...really bad at lineart...

How exactly do you go about doing the lineart? And what does your piece look like so far, if you don't mind sharing it?

I'm not sure if this will help, but I figured I'd share it anyway.

kinda hard to explain the "How" part.
I just try a bunch of tools and textures and then if I like it, I use it and start going over the lines on a new layer so I don't ruin the previous lines.

I don't have a whole lot. i combined the two linework layers.
I didn't like how it looked so i turned the opacity done on both, combined them and changed programs.

Oh dang first of all kudos to you for achieving such nice lines without a tablet!! I use a tablet and my lines are still a mess LOL

I don't think SAI has it and I'm not sure about medibang but other programs like photoshop / equivalent have something call the pen tool. It makes straight lines and curves really nicely and you just mostly have to click and drag the mouse to fit your sketch lines :^) That's how I use to do it. Not sure if that helps, but from what I see you're doing a pretty good job!

@Noctis: thank you.

and Sai does have it. But it's not so much the lines.
Like i mean it is the lines but using the curve and straight tool...I hate it.

sadly that doesn't really help.
but ah well. I don't think I'll really get any help since most programs go by pen pressure.
I may end up just using the sharp pen tool in medibang to achieve better lines.
