@Kozi: Northernlion, Sinowbeats, Last_Grey_Wolf, Rockleesmile, and Alpacapatrol are my favorites. :)
@Shark: Thank you!
Maybe it will give me something new to watch. :3
I’m still stuck in a Youtube hole, currently. haha
@another movie addict: That’s not one that I can remember hearing of.
It sounds definitely very unusual. XDD;;

It's a trippy movie to watch. Given that it's from the 60s that makes sense. XD
@Another Movie Addict: Oh yeah, I got that vibe off of Yellow Submarine, too. XDD;;
But for anyone interested in early anime, I do recommend The Sea Prince and the Fire Child. It's from Sanrio (Hello Kitty), and you can tell lol. The animation is pretty though.
@Another Movie Addict: Oh, I know Sanrio. :3 It’s been around for ages.
My favorite series of theirs, aesthetically, is probably Little Twin Stars.
(with a second favorite of Bobonribon. :3)

Well the Hello Kitty thing is for anyone else reading along.

@Another Movie Addict: Ohhh, so THAT’S where that was from!
I loved the gif of it, that you had in your signature. :3
It looks reeeeally cute.

It's a very cute movie. :3 and yes that's where that gif was from. Eventually I plan on having a gif from The Fantastic Adventures of Unico as a sig. Which is also a really adorable early anime movie.
@Another Movie Addict: It feels like the older animated movies have so much... more to them.
More something. I’m not sure what, though.

In many cases they just seem to have more heart to them. Modern anime most of the time feel like companies hunting down trends. Going with whatever is popular rather than having a story they want to tell.
And as hard and as much effort as digital artwork and digital animation require, hand drawn cells always feel like more. Like there's more passion and hard work put into them.
@Another Movie Addict: Yes, that’s true.
I feel like there’s something more meaningful in a lot of cel animation.
Not that there aren’t wonderful plots being used right now in other methods,
but I feel like they would present more beautifully using the older methods.
Unfortunately, those older methods are both unrealistic and expensive,
In terms of time and money.
Though, I must say, seeing Cardcaptor Sakura using modern effects for the magic was NIIIIIICE. FFFFF—

I think the best example of one feeling superior to the other is Sailor Moon. Like I adore the original animation, it's so smooth and fluid. The first two seasons of Crystal you could see there were frames missing. It was so clunky.
@Another Movie Addict: Yeah, Cardcaptor Sakura had that at first, too.
They fixed it for the DVD/Blu-Ray release. :3

Supposedly the animation in Crystal has gotten better.
@Another Movie Addict: It has, yeah. XDDD
There were some trainwrecks early on, for certain. Lol
