Cross didn't like how this was going, he could see Andrew struggling with the wheel and glanced at his first mate. "Hey, get below deck and find a bucket to get any water out!" He called to Cordelia, noticing how she clung to the railing. At below deck, most of what she had to worry about was rising water and keeping her balance. Keeping in mind how the sail seemed to stay at full, he tied it to keep it's position and got behind Andrew, and grabbed onto the wheel to help him keep the wheel steady. That and his body sort of kept his own in place. Granted, the younger male was a tad surprised, but he was more than grateful for the extra weight.

Cordelia nodded, turning to hurry below deck. As she did, a large wave swept into the ship with enough force, Cordelia was thrown overboard,"Ahhhhh!" She cried out as she landed in the water. Waves started to carry her away,"Andrew!" She cried out,"Cross!" She flailed her arms, trying to be seen.

Andrew could see it before it ever happened when he glanced at his best friend. He immediately began to panic and tried to get the older man off of him. "Damn it, get off me!. Drop anchor, now!" He demanded of the crew mate.with a bitter serious tone lingering. Cross worried for both of the other two, but did as told and let go of the wheel to drop the heavy anchor. He planned on going after the first mate, but the captain had beat him to it. Andrew took off his hat and practically shoved it into Cross's arms before running and diving over the railing, and into the ocean. "Captain!" Cross called in vein, hurrying to the railing to watch the surface. He'd probably need a lifeboat just to bring them back. The idiot!
With the ship in park, at least he didn't have to worry about leaving the two stranded, not that he didn't know how to turn the ship around otherwise. He had his own sailing skills. Andrew swam under the water until he managed to get to Cordelia, seeing how he was a fast swimmer. Even in rough waves, it didn't take much to get to her.

Cordelia panicked when she saw Andrew jump into the water after her. What was he doing? She struggled to stay above water as the current tried to drag her under. She took a deep breath before sinking into the water. A moment later, she broke the surface, gasping for air. She did her best to not panic, trying to keep calm. This was something she knew could happen and she knew to panic only made things worse.

Andrew kept swimming, breaking surface when he reached his childhood friend, and wrapped an arm around her waist to keep her above water. "Now, before you go worrying about getting back to the ship, just leave it to Cross." He said to her in between having a wave hit him in the face. For the time being, they'd need to keep from drifting in the tide. So, while having an arm wrapped around Cordelia, he began to slowly paddle back towards the ship, with his free arm pulling her with him. And to thing, taking swimming classes actually did some good back in high school!
Cross went about the ship readying the life boat, and climbing inside to lower it down into the ocean. He took the two paddles and out to sea after the captain and first mate.

Cordelia nodded and helped him paddle their way through the rough waves towards the ship. She saw Cross approaching with the lifeboat and started to swim for it, making sure not to let Andrew go. She continued until her hand caught the edge of the boat,"Thank god..." She murmured

Cross smirked at the two of them and got Cordelia into the boat with Andrew's help, before pulling him into the boat as well. "Don't you go pulling' a stunt like that again, you're the captain! Remember that." He scolded lightly as he began to row back to the ship. Andrew chuckled and glanced at Cordelia briefly. "You okay?" He asked her.
You can die anytime...
Cordelia nodded, calming her breathing,"I'm sorry." She murmured, shivering a bit,"I didn't intend to be thrown in...I should have tied some rope around me and attach it to the ship or something." She felt awful that she endangered everyone like that, even if it was an accident.
but living takes true courage.
Cross glanced at her and shook his head. "Listen, even if you had this storm caught up to us faster than most storms. If we would've had more time, we could've gotten a head of it. You didn't do anything wrong, got that?" He said to her, sounding like an older brother or something. Andrew was the only one who had any ryme or reason to be sorry, jumping overboard like he did. Once they reached the ship, Cross pulled up by the ladder and set the paddles aside to hold the ladder. "Everyone up. We'll need to scoop out any water below deck." He said. Andrew nodded, and helped Cordelia up the ladder first.
You can die anytime...
Cordelia carefully climbed up onto the deck and headed down below, grabbing the first bucket she found and started to scoop up any water that happened to get in. Luckily it didn't seem like too much had seeped in, which felt like luck compared to what had just happened.

Andrew had Cross climb up next, then securely tied a rope between the lifeboat, and the ship's ladder before climbing up as well. It was the only boat they had, and they couldn't reset it until they docked or went to shore. Cross went and grabbed a bucket as well, assisting the first mate with scooping water and dumping it out of porthole.
The storm has lightened some, and Andrew raised the anchored, then adjusted the sail to the wind, and took his place behind the wheel. Lucky the storm hadn't taken them too far off course.

It didn't take too long to get all the water put with Cross's help. After getting everything cleaned up, she looked at Cross,"Thank you for your help." She said,"And for saving us..."She sighed and shook her head,"I cant believe I let that happen...I'm usually more careful about things like that."
but living takes true courage.
Cross out the bucket aside once the water was dealt with, and he shook his head. "Being on a ship out at sea isn't about being careful, it's about thinking on your feet and expecting things to go wrong. That way you'll be more prepared if something like that does happen. " He explained, lightly placing a hand on her head and ruffling her hair some.
You can die anytime...
"Maybe... But I never wanted to put you or the captain at risk." She said with a sigh, just glad it was all over now,"There's other things that will happen for that."
but living takes true courage.
Cross shrugged lightly and shook his head some, kind of understanding her worry. But it didn't matter, it was over and they were on their way to finding another crew member. He glanced at her curiously. "The captain must care for you an awful lot, to dive in after you like that. You known each other long?" Cross asked, not meaning to cross any boarders by asking.
You can die anytime...
Cordeila looked ove at him,"We grew up together... His family took me in..." She told him about their past, how they had always dreamed about being pirates and how she had managed to save up for the ship and how she had surprised him with it. "I care about him very much." She admitted to Cross, "But with the pirate's life, I don't know what could come out of it, if anything. Most pirates don't want to settle down someday, most want to sail until the sea takes them. I want to see where it takes me, but at one point, I know that I'll want to settle somewhere someday."
but living takes true courage.
Cross listened to her words without really saying much. When she finished, he offered her a warm smile and lightly placed a hand on top of her head. "I wouldn't count the capt. out so quick, I'm sure he'd settle back down if it was with you. By the looks of things how they are now, he'd probably do anything for to to make you happy." He voiced caringly, then ruffled her hair and smirked. "Enough of my rambling though, we've got duties to attend."
You can die anytime...
Cordelia smiled and thanked him for his words, feeling a little bit better at least. After cleaning up down below, she went to make sure they were still alright on supplies. After making sure all was good, she went to join the captain on the deck.

Both a just adorable~ :vanora_heart: :vanora_heart: :vanora_heart:
Cross smirked and helped her clean up, then headed up to the deck and leaned against the ship's railing. He took out his spy glass and looked through it, wanting to see how close to the other island they were getting.
Andrew kept his eyes focused and kept his hold on the wheel of the ship as they sailed. He didn't need to look at the compass to know he was going the right way. He just knew, like he'd been sailing his whole life.
