"This is all you have?" the young male asked, as he looked at the 3 books before him, brushing his blonde bangs out of his eyes, and checking the titles.
"It is." the older male replied, scratching at his short brown hair.
They were Zeke LeBlanc and Vincent Remmington, both mages of considerable power... and each of them having a very special reason for that, known only to a select few. They were currently in the library/study of Vincent's manor, as Zeke's mother had asked him to stop by and pick up a few books for her. She'd have done it herself, but life had become very busy for her as of late, and Zeke was easy to guilt into doing things for her.
"Well, thank you muchly." Zeke responded, as he started to look through the first book.
"Think nothing of it." Vincent replied, before a small pulse of mana was felt by the two of them.
"...doorbell. Must be the other guest I was expecting." he commented. "Excuse me a moment." he said to Zeke.
Zeke nodded, and Vincent left, before the blonde continued to read through the first book. He'd only been reading for a minute or so, before he suddenly froze, and shot up, suddenly on alert.
"....what is this...?" he wondered, looking in the general direction of the front door.
".........." he was then silent, before getting up and starting to make his way towards where Vincent would be; the front door of the manor.

When he peered around the corner, managing to stay hidden in the shadows quite well, he saw a young woman standing just outside talking to Vincent. She had a denim jacket on, along with some jeans and a crop top beneath the denim. Her left hand was also gloved.
"Thanks Vincent. I'll probably come by for more later. For now, I just needed something to read while on my flight tomorrow." She commented with a light laugh.
"I can look over the case, sure... But damn if I don't need a change sometimes."
Vincent just chuckled as the woman said what she did.
"Understandable." he replied.
"My library is always open for you." he told her.
Zeke, meanwhile, narrowed his eyes.
'Her.' he thought. 'It has to be her.' he repeated mentally.
He then narrowed his eyes even more, and activated an ability that he had, thanks to his father. The Eye of Judgement. He started at the mirror, using it as a reflective surface, and shot his stare right at her.
It was time for her to be judged.
"Understandable." he replied.

It was time for her to be judged.
She just chuckled lightly.
"Trust me, over the years I've grown to be very well aware of that fact. I'm here anytime I have a flight anywhere for work." She added after a moment.
"Now, I'm most too keen on the idea of being judged, so shall take my leave." She then said after a moment, looking toward the mirror in the distance.
"Especially when done in an attempt to be secretive."
Vincent was silent as she said what she did.
"Eh?" he muttered, looking over towards the mirror.
"Judged?" he asked.
He then looked back at the woman, who had just turned around to leave... only to almost walk straight into a man that looked... rather imposing, in both aura and stature.
"So." Zeke said.
"You're very perceptive." he commented.
"Eh?" he muttered, looking over towards the mirror.
"Judged?" he asked.
He then looked back at the woman, who had just turned around to leave... only to almost walk straight into a man that looked... rather imposing, in both aura and stature.

"You're very perceptive." he commented.
She looked him head to toe, and internally jumped a mile when she nearly walked into him. Outwardly though, she didn't do anything other than shove her gloved hand into a pocket.
"Have to be. Comes with the territory." She commented as she shifted the bag on her shoulder.
"That a problem?" She then asked after a couple of seconds.
"Problem?" Zeke asked.
"Hmmmmmm..." he muttered, narrowing his eyes again.
"....no. No." he answered her.
"It's just surprising." he said. "Very few are able to detect that." he commented further.
Vincent just sighed, and chuckled.
"Erica, this is Ezekiel." he said to the woman.
"Ezekiel, Erica."
Erica just quirked an eyebrow when Vincent gave the man's name.
"Ezekiel, huh? Quite an old world and biblical name. Something... Tells me that it's fitting for you." She commented after a few seconds.
"And I can detect most things."she added after a moment.
"It is." Zeke replied.
"Both my parents are quite religious." he commented.
As he said that, Erica heard Vincent stifle a laugh.
"...." Zeke was silent, but then sighed.
"You can detect most things, huh?" he asked.
"Sounds handy." he commented.

"Sounds handy." he commented.
Erica glanced in Vincent's direction when he stifled that laugh, but didn't say anything. Instead, she answered zekes question and comment.
"It really is. Especially in my line of work." She commented.
"Gets me out of a LOT of trouble."
Zeke paused for a moment, and raised his eyebrow.
"Line of work?" he asked.
"Hmmm." he mumbled.
"If I may be so bold, what is it you do?" he asked her.
Vincent raised an eyebrow when he heard the question.
"Are you thinking of...?" he asked, but trailed off some.
"Perhaps." was the answer Zeke gave.
Erica shrugged. It wasn't too unusual a question, after all.
"I'm an on again off again interrogator." She then answered.
"Been told I'm one of the most effective... but they just can't keep me on constantly because of... reasons." She added
"....reasons." Zeke muttered.
"I see." he said.
"Tell me..." he then said further, trailing off some. "Would you like to do that on a more permanent basis?" he asked her.
"As in, have steady employment?" he asked further.
"I know a place where your talents would be greatly appreciated." he told her, gesturing to her arm slightly.
"I see." he said.
"Tell me..." he then said further, trailing off some. "Would you like to do that on a more permanent basis?" he asked her.

"I know a place where your talents would be greatly appreciated." he told her, gesturing to her arm slightly.
"You say that, and you don't even know the full details. How do you know you're not offering it to a monster?" Erica asked. She'd never thought of herself as a monster, but she knew that people had considered her such in the past. Before she learned to get a hand on her arm and what it let her do.
"And try as you might to argue that, you can't deny the validity of the statement. Can you?" She asked with a subtle smirk
Zeke just smirked in response.
"I cannot." he replied.
"But you just seem trustworthy." he told her.
"Plus, you seem to be on good terms with Vincent." he went on.
"Vincent doesn't associate with monsters." he reasoned.
"Anyway, you interested?" he then asked her.
"I cannot." he replied.
"But you just seem trustworthy." he told her.
"Plus, you seem to be on good terms with Vincent." he went on.
"Vincent doesn't associate with monsters." he reasoned.

Erica was silent for a moment before shrugging.
"I can give it a look." She said.
"Look into it and all that." She then said before pausing.
"Why?" She asked, her voice curious.
"Here." Zeke replied, as something came flying towards her face.
She caught it between two fingers, to discover it was a business card.
A blank business card.
"Pour some mana into it." Zeke told her.
When she did, she saw several things form on it... his name, his position, and the company he worked for...
Special Unit 3.

Erica just smirked.
"Now that is definitely nifty." She commented.
"And huh, been awhile since I've heard anything aboutSU3." She then admitted, porobably surprising him that she knew of it in the first place.
"You guys tend to stay rather quite and under teh radar I noticed."
"Well, officially speaking, we don't exist." Zeke shrugged.
"Though that does beg a question." he said.
"It's clear you know about the unit." he commented.
"How?" he asked.
"How've you heard about us?"
"Though that does beg a question." he said.

"How've you heard about us?"

"Oh, I'm on and off between the council and interpol." Erica answered simply.
"Council... they have to know what's going on, and as a result, I've come across you guys in the past." She then added.
"Nothing major or whatever, buit it has happened."
