@Lunakiri: that's true, i've never thought of it from that standpoint. but yeah it's really interesting since there's not other culture like it, but it's def had a worldwide impact

i get that too, some of my fav songs are just instrumentals *cough* edm. and songs in different languages is basically unique instrumentals/sounds

And here is one of my favorite songs of a language other than English

@Lunakiri: true that, i think all languages have their unique beauty to it, whether in audio or written form

@Rallaa: i agree, i have a whole spotify playlist of it xD
it's perfect study music imo, cause it's hype enough to keep me awake but the words don't distract me. it's also good break music too, i can take a break and dance out my nerves without switching playlists or... i can dance while i study too xp

@Rallaa: tbh i'm not that familiar with subgenres yet, i'm still trying to learn the differences
i know most of my favs are house though, specifically electro, tropical and progressive

Voltie — HIM Posted 6 years ago ( 2018/09/9 04:15:23 )
Oh yeah, I like tropical house too.
I don't fully understand the intricacies of the sub-genres either.
I just know that trap and future bass both have a general 'feel' that they all have, and it's something I like in each.

@Rallaa: yeah i think it's hard to tell because i feel like artists mix subgenres sometimes
the only subgenre i can really distinctly tell apart from the others is dubstep but that's because the beats are so different
and now that you mention it trap and future bass does have a distinct feel, like a bass-y feel haha

@rolly joger: Most definitely~<3
I so wish I was biligual, or hell even multilingual. It'd be awesome.

@Unicorn: Considering trying to record something for a skillshare course I wanna do, but ... My brain keeps freezing on it, lol.

@rolly joger: I'd describe Trap as being like rap beats, but EDM style.
And Future Bass as being Cute and Bubbly EDM.
A lot of Future Bass I've found has had elements of anime or Japanese lyric.

@Lunakiri: Same on languages.
If only I could have had some kind of childhood influence for being bi-lingual.
Wish I could speak either German or Japanese.

@Lunakiri: yeah i'm really happy i'm bilingual and that my parents spoke their native language to me growing up. it's so much easier learning a language when you're younger

@Rallaa: Both would be lovely!
I would actually really love to learn Russian and Hungarian myself. //nodnod

@rolly joger: If I may ask... what's your second (or first?) Language?

@Rallaa: hmm i can see that at least for future bass, i don't listen to enough trap to tell the difference. it's hard to describe house, it's like chill/pop idk
LOL yeah, porter robinson instantly popped up in my mind when you said anime influence

@Lunakiri: my second language is mandarin chinese, though i learned it at the same time as english, so idk if it's really a second language. it's definitely a secondary language though cause i don't use much of it now anymore

@rolly joger: Huh
Of all things.
What can you do? Speak? Read? Write?
How Eloquent/Literate are you?

Sorry for the questions, I'm just curious.

@Lunakiri: hmm my speaking is almost conversational, i can def understand and speak enough to get by pretty well with native speakers. i am by no means eloquent but people can still figure out what i'm trying to say lol
i can read maybe 30% of words and write 20%. chinese is hard, each word is a different character, so you basically have to memorize a different picture for each word. i really wish it can be like other languages and have an alphabet but NO... it makes the language unique tho so i'll give it that xD

@rolly joger: That's common with the Asian languages, as far as I know.
Japanese (while they DO have romanji) has their Kanji and Katakana, which is similar. Kinda.
Not as hellish, but it is still similar - ish?
XDD

But it's cool that you can speak it and read it at all~<3

@Lunakiri: yea actually i think japanese can be worst because it half uses chinese characters sometimes, so it's like having to read and write two languages

that's true, def thankful i know a little. it becomes useful whenever i'm feeling chinese food lol xD
