Kiah was silent as she watched, before smirking as he bypassed the one thing people always ignored, or forgot.

When he realized that he had missed something, she paused.

". . . I'll admit... I hadn't expected that." She admitted after a few seconds before hitting the buzzer to be heard in there.

"Here's the only hint you'll get, Mousy." She started.

"Think shiny."

- - - -All right, she is finished. You may speak again.

"...." Illias was silent as he was told that.

"Shiny..." he said.

He then puzzled over it for about 10 minutes, before snapping his fingers.

"The COPPER!" he realized.

He then went to fixing his theories and plans and compounds, and continued on. However, when he got to the end, something STILL wasn't adding up.

"What'd I miss NOW?" he wondered, checking again.

"Huh." Sharp murmured.

"He's doing better than all the others that have tried this." he commented.

Kiah was silent before chuckling.

"Even with the hint, people don't think of the copper." She commented.

"I admit, I'm impressed." She then said.

"As for what he's missing still... I wonder if he's going to need another hint." She mused. "Because it would, of course, be better if he didn't."

Illias puzzled and puzzled for another 25 minutes or so, before it was clear he was getting frustrated.

"Errrgh." he growled.

"This shouldn't be reacting like this. What am I missing THIS time!?" he asked.

"Is it this?" he wondered, adjusting something.

"Huh." Sharp muttered.

"That will very nearly work." he commented.

"Nearly." Kiah agreed with a nod.

"But... I can see his line of thinking with that. It's a valid line." She then said.

"It's the copper. He's not factoring that into anything at the moment. Once that clicks, it'll all fall into place, I think."

"Hm." Sharp responded.

"Well, his time's almost up." he commented.

"So, unless he-" he started to say, before Illias snapped his fingers.

"Wait!" the gorgon exclaimed.

"If I use the copper here, and adjust this here, then it should work perfectly!" he said, quickly getting done what needed to be done.

Sharp just sighed, and shook his head.

"That should work." he said.

"Sadly, the time will have expired by the time it does." he lamented.

"Honestly, I'd give him a pass." Kiah commented.

"He's at least been able to find the error. He was able to adapt and correct himself." She then continued.

"So I'd give him a pass, even if he's out of the time limit."

"High praise." Sharp commented.

Illias then succeeded in the task, and Sharp and Kiah stepped inside.

"Congratulations." he said.

"However, that took you an hour and 20 minutes." he told him.

Illias looked dejected when he heard that.

"Kiah has something to say to you, however." he then added.

Kiah had her arms crossed and an almost serious look in her eyes.

"Mousy, you're a rarity. You overlooked the copper before doubling back, and then overlooked it AGAIN." She started.

"But... honestly? It's rare anyone can even get to the point that the copper is important." She admitted.

"You did good. Slow, but good. Gives a good insight as to how it is that you work."

"Thank you very much." he said.

"I will leave you two to talk." Sharp then said, before leaving.

"Huh?" Illias muttered.

"What's there to talk about?" he asked Kiah.

Kiah sighed lightly.

"Perhaps it has something to do with your initial reaction upon seeing me." She stated.

"Followed up with how you're still quite uneasy, and yes I can see it in your posture." She added.

"............." Illias was silent, before sighing.

"I'm sorry." he said.

"I don't know you." he told her. "I've never met you before." he went on.

"But you have this... uneasy familiarity to you." he said further.

"And I can't shake it. I don't know why." he admitted.

Kiah shrugged.

"WEll, My name is Kiah." She told him.

"That's likely good enough." She then said.

"And you are... Ilias? I do believe is what you were then introduced as, after Mouse was established." She added

"Yes. I am." he replied.

"I was told by your... well, pseudo-resident/coworker Riley that I had aptitude for working here at R&D." he told her.

"Guess... maybe not." he sighed.

"Took me too long to get to the answer."

"Honestly, you're the first aside from a few specific people here, that actually COULD get the answer." Kiah then said

"If you want the position here, you can have it." She then added. "If you don't want it, we'll find someone else to test."

It wasn't something that was too hard to believe though.

"Excuse me?" he asked.

"You mean that?" he asked her.

"I would love a position here." he told her.

"It's so hard for me to find work overall." he said. "I'd never refuse." he went on.

"So... I passed, kinda?" he then asked.

"You got the right answer. That little hiccup did cost you time, but .. honestly? I AM impressed." Kiah answered.

"And... I'm pretty much the ruling authority for here in this department." She added.

"Sharp outranks me, of course, but here? Amongst those in this area? I'm the top dog. So to speak."

"That's pretty cool." he said.

"Especially for one so-" he started to say, before pausing.

"Well... all right, I was GOING to say 'young'." he admitted.

"However, looks can be VERY deceiving as I've learned over the years." he went on.

"I'm guessing you're older than you look."
