I feel like people hardly use them unless they wear really short hair or have earrings on. Some avis look really odd without them too but ears seem to have an odd placement anyway? I really wanted to have ears with my current avi but...

It does not work well with the headband. I don’t think it works well with this hair either. Just the ear looks either too dark or too light with the hair inbetween? Anyway, I think it’s strange that the headband wasn't made with the ears in mind? Or maybe they just needa be on a different layer??

Really, I think the ear placement should be lowered. Or have another option for lower placement? Maybe they should’ve been built on the base to begin with..

This looks really weird, right??

I agree to the ears are a little too dark and don't often layer well. I never use them, however I never miss them either. >3>

Yep. Ears are darker than the actual skin tones.
That's why I rarely ever use them.
Plus they just look awkward.
Maybe if they were:
Correct skin tone
Smaller
A bit simplified, to be similar in comparison to our simpler noses.

I wanted to use the elf ears so bad but they were so off in the tone.
and i never really have my base as a different color other than the skin tones.
So then i just never used them.

and the basic ears, the proportions just seem a bit..too big to me.

I love me some large elf ears, not gonna lie. Though, I try to use them with hair that covers the area where they meet the base. I wonder if 2px to the left and 1px down might look more flush with the base. I’m just guessing, though. Since these are the only ears I usually use. XDD;;

@Elithiya: I was just looking at ears and skintones because of the new ears that were released.
And I realized why the old ears look off-tone.
Our skins, due to shading I guess, are darker in the back of the head, than on the face.
The ears *do* match the skintones, but they match that darker area around the backside of our heads.
But when we have hairs on, it covers that darker area and we end up comparing the ears to the shade of our face, so the ears look a lot darker.
