Forums General Chit-Chat My rat has gone in for an operation
My boy Alexander has gone in to be castrated today. I have to call at 2pm to see how he is - I will be a nervous wreck until then surgery on rats is really tricky because sometimes they don't respond well to the anaesthetic. I felt so rotten leaving him there, poor boi.
I hope your rat has a successful surgery! Is this the first time he's going in for an operation?

@Hachi: well he can only be neutered once xD I'm joking lol sorry. His surgery was successful but he is still somewhat groggy :/ I don't think he's very happy with me.
@xirin: all is well, that thankfully :). I have 5 other rats :) Alexander has been fighting with them which is why he needed the castration. Mice are cute too :D I would worry about being too rough with mice, and don't think I'm delicate enough for them. What are their names?

@xirin: I love those names :) so cute! I imagine you have to be really soft-handed. With rats I can be as rough as I want tbh, not intentionally but just not worrying about hurting them. I am really worried about holding Alexander right now because his butt end is kinda delicate, poor dude :o
currently: new novel who dis?

lol I don't think I've ever seen a castrated rat before. Hope he recovers well. X3
I had a female rat a long time ago. I'd love to have a rat again someday. ; w;

Good to hear that the surgery went well though! After some recovery time I'm sure he'll be back to a good mood.
