"Such is the lifestyle of a university student." he lamented with a small sigh.
"But I should only be going for another few years." he went on. "And then I can start saving for YOUR education." he continued.
"Because you'll need to go to a university with a top-notch law program." he reasoned.
"And odds are you might be able to even go Ivy-league."
"That's true." he said.

Ash sighed as he cracked his knuckles and accepted his pay from Cass.
"Thanks." he said.
"Bounty was a bit tricky, but I got it done." he commented.
He then left her office, and teleported back to the bigger place he'd gotten to accommodate Casey. However, when he appeared in the place, he immediately felt that something was... off.
"....wha...?" he muttered.
"Casey!?" he called out, looking around.
"We'll see how it goes." he said.

Ash was met with silence as he called out for her. There was a certain ... something to the air that was ominous, suffocating. He couldn't feel Casey's mana as he normally would have been able to through this.
He could feel her mana everywhere, yet nowhere at the same time.
It was ominous, it was confusing, and it was certainly alarming.
Naturally, he made his way to Casey's room since that was the most logical location for her to be. The closer he got though, the more he was able to feel the ominous nature. It wasn't hard to guess that it was coming from her room.

"Oh, what the hell...?" he muttered, as he got closer to her door.
"This can't be good." he said.
"Casey!" he called in, knocking on the door... but to no response.
"Casey!?" he called in again.
"Hey! I'm coming in!" he then said.
He then turned the knob and pushed... finding it to be... heavy. As though something were pushing back, so to speak.
"Damn it all..." he growled, putting more effort into it, and shoving the door open.
"Casey!"
"This can't be good." he said.
"Casey!" he called in, knocking on the door... but to no response.
"Casey!?" he called in again.
"Hey! I'm coming in!" he then said.
He then turned the knob and pushed... finding it to be... heavy. As though something were pushing back, so to speak.
"Damn it all..." he growled, putting more effort into it, and shoving the door open.

He didn't get an answer. She was completely silent, seemingly nothign in the room.
Aside from the overwhelming mana that seemed to be growing in strength even more every second.
As he managed to push the door open enough to slip in, he found the room without any light, all of it was being swallowed up by the mana that he could feel there. It was suffocating, and he likely wouldn't be able to find Casey, or anything, in that darkness. It was pitch black, no light anywhere.

Ash's eyes widened a bit when he saw just how dark it was.
The darkness within himself seemed to be resonating with it a bit. But even IT knew that this darkness was dangerous. It was oppressive, and it was bad news.
"Crap." he said, creating a dark fireball in his hand... and having it do nothing to illuminate the darkness.
"Casey!" he called out, as he started to fumble about, trying to find anything by touch.
The darkness within himself seemed to be resonating with it a bit. But even IT knew that this darkness was dangerous. It was oppressive, and it was bad news.

Ash didn't find anything, at least not by hand.
It wasn't until he stepped into the middle of the room a few steps later that he found anything.
The floor lit up in a deep almost gorgeous, violet hue. There was a rune that was on the floor, and it was one that almost harkened back to his past, but was different enough to not be the same thing.

"Ohhhhhhh, this ain't good." he said.

As she was there, he could tell that she was the reason for the rune.
But he could also tell that it seemed that it was less her, and more her mana.

Ash was waiting for longer than would have been ideal, even though it was only two minutes, before his cell chimed.
Get out of that house. I'll get someone there to deal with the situation within a few minutes. Her text was straight to the point and clear.

Reassuring or not, get the hell out of there before her mana eats you. Literally. Being a necromancer, chances are it'll be drawing to the dark side of your mana. Cass replied with as Ash considered what he did. He had no idea what would happen to the teen that was living with him, but he also knew that there wasn't nothing he could do.
He had to do something. He couldn't just leave, could he?

Ash didn't see, or feel, anything. There was nothing there, nothing that gave any sort of indication of the teen he knew should have been there.
Whatever was going on, was far too strong for the moment. There was nothing that could be done at the moment.
