"K." was all Evan responded with.

"I'll go to see her now." he told her.

"Then go home." he went on.

With that, he locked his locker, and bit his lip.

"...really hurts." he mumbled.

"I'll see you later, Sammy." he then told her.

Evan had made his way to the nurse, where she has looked him over and said that he should probably go home. She told him she would contact his parents to let them know, and to come for him.

When he nodded slowly, she made her way to the phone, and dialled his home number.

"Hello, Mrs. Fyrane?" she said when Casey answered.

"Your son is complaining about a massive headache, as well as back pains." she said.

"Can you come and escort him home? See if it gets better, or perhaps contact your family doctor?" she asked her.

Evan was silent as he slowly looked at his mother.

"Hey, Mom." he replied quietly.

"Nothing seems to help his pain." the nurse replied.

"This may be something you just need to wait out, or it may be more serious." she said further. "But I don't think he should be in school at the moment." she reasoned.

"...hard to concentrate." Evan muttered.

"Hard to pay attention. Too much pain..." he said further.

"Thank you." the nurse replied.

"We'll make sure any work he misses is sent home with his sister." she said.

"Sammy already said she would." Evan commented, before walking over towards Casey.

"All right." he said quietly.

"I'm ready to go." he told her.

Evan was silent, and merely went to the couch to wait. As he walked, Kitt noticed that he was home early, and approached him, making little feline noises.

"Hi, Kitt." Evan said blandly.

That was all he said or did, though, as he went to the couch, climbed on, and tried his best to rest his head, and get comfortable.

The large black feline watched as Evan did this, before she looked at Casey, making her way over, a concerned look in her eyes. She'd never seen Evan like this before... and it was easy to see that it worried her.

Kitt rubbed up against Casey's leg for a moment, just as the doorbell rang.

"It's me!" they heard Rene call in.

"Door's open!" Casey called back.

With that, she heard Rene let himself in, and he made his way towards where she was.

"All right then." he addressed her.

"Where's the patient?" he asked.

"All right." Rene responded.

"I'll go take a look." he told her.

He then looked at Kitt, sighed, and pet her head.

"Yes, I'll take care of him." he assured the feline.

With that, he made his way into the den, to look Evan over.

About a half-hour later, of nothing but silence, Casey and Kitt suddenly heard Evan scream out. It was in pain, and it was immense pain. It was loud, it was sharp, and it was short... which was probably even MORE concerning.

"H-here!" Evan responded.

With that, he pointed to two specific points on his head.

And where he pointed was very familiar to Casey.

He was pointing to where her own feline ears were, in relation to points on the head... at the top, but slightly off to the sides. Much like any feline's.

"...his tailbone seems to be hurting as well." Rene commented.

"And he's running a fever suddenly." he added.

"I... all right..." Evan responded, as Rene put a cold damp cloth on his forehead.

He then looked at Casey.

"...Casey." he addressed her.

"You sound like you know what's going on." he said.

"I may have an idea, myself, but why not share with me?" he suggested, before looking at Evan.

"The cloth helping?" he asked, to which Evan nodded in response.

"Hm." Rene muttered.

"Evan, you just keep still." he told Evan.

"Try to do what your parents tried to teach you." he said.

Evan just nodded.

"All right, I'm stepping out of the room for a moment." Rene then said further. "I'll be back in about 5 minutes or so." he added.

He then looked to Casey and rose to his feet.

"Can you spare 5?" he asked her.
