Please ping! I get distracted easily. 
We used to make up our own rules for Monopoly. Like if you landed on the railroads or Park Palace/Broadway you'd have to buy them and if you didn't have enough $$$ you traded your other properties and money or went bankrupt. Or when we got to be adults when we passed go not only did we get $200 we did a shot of something alcholic, etc. We did other things too... but I can't remember all the things we came up with, lol.

The cheater's edition sounds like it'd be a riot with the right group of people haha
When my friend and I were kids, and we had nothing to play with in the house except for Monopoly and other generic board games, we'd combine them into our own board game. At some point we incorporated chess and dominos into Monopoly, thereby making... chessdominopoly. I don't remember all the rules we came up with though haha

I've seen this on tv several times and I cringe at it every time... I just can't condone the variable of cheating... It feels so wrong to me.
i hate monopoly but i might give this version a try XD
