"So I see." the voice responded, before the owner of it stepped forward.

He was a tall man, kind of gangly, and wore a white lab coat, over understated dull clothing. He wore glasses, had short ruffled hair, and patchy facial hair as well... mostly light brown and grey.

And he looked more haggard than usual.

"Welcome back." he greeted her.

"Can I offer you a drink?" he asked.

"...thankfully I DO have some bottled water." he responded.

"And no. They're not." he confirmed, as he went to a small fridge, produced a bottle of water from it, and gave it to her.

"In fact, in my professional opinion, they're 'bad'." he said.

"This is a dark time for mutants." he lamented.

"And anyone that sympathizes with them." he then added with a sigh.

"....Jackson?" the man asked.

"Hmmmmm." he mumbled, thinking for a moment.

"That WOULD explain the statues, and disappearances." he commented.

"But... so what?" he then asked.

"What do we do with this information?"

"............." the man was silent as she said what she did.

"...are you serious?" he asked.

"Are you honestly serious right now?" he asked further.

Her expression told him that yes. She was.

"...you're going to do this, whether I agree or so, so I might as well help." he said with a deep sigh.

"General public dissent." he answered her. "Things like defiling their propaganda, defacing surfaces with anti-order slogans and pro-mutant messages... that sort of thing." he clarified.

"........." again, the man was silent.

"Of course." he said.

"I'll make sure to have a few ready for you." he told her.

"....a few dozen." he then mumbled beneath his breath, though odds were that Ana had heard him.

"Good luck out there." he told her.

"If it works, I hope."

The man sighed again... and smiled softly.

"I know." he said.

"And you're potentially the only one that can." he told her.

"I'll assist and aid you in any way I can." he assured her further, before shaking his head.

"Is there anything else right now?" he asked her.

"If not, I have bodies to prep." he said.

"A LOT."

"....I refuse to let you wander out there alone." he responded.

"Now, more than ever, this place is your home." he said.

"I refuse to lose you again." he insisted.

"So let this be where you can feel safe." he went on.

"...the Order never checks a morgue, anyway." he sighed.

"Precisely." the man responded.

"So this is a safe place, I assure you." he told her.

"Gloomy and morbid, but safe." he said further.

"So go and do whatever it is you feel you need to do." he continued.

"I'll be here to give you whatever it is you need."

"Then do so." the man responded.

"Whatever you feel you need." he told her.

He then sighed, and turned his back to her, heading deeper into the building.

"...to be honest, I thought you gone." he said.

"I'd heard you'd been captured and disposed of."

"I am aware of that." the man responded.

"But still. I worried." he told her.

"You're not invincible, or outright immortal." he said further.

"But I'm glad you somehow escaped." he went on.

"...unless you being captured was a lie, itself." he then added.
