The blond's eyes narrowed at the two of them and Soph gave an i-swear-we're-innocent smile, her cheeks flushed. "Yeah, okay." He walked away and she knew he was gonna keep his eye on her. "Ugh, I hate that guy," she hissed once he was out of earshot, her ears still red at the tips.

"Whats his problem? i mean seriously" he sighed. "Why dont you get to work? ill be fine" he smiled and took a drink.

Soph grimaced with Eke. "I know, he's actually kinda terrible." Her nose crinkled and her ears flushed again. "You sure? My shift is almost over, just like 20 more minutes!" she offered. She went off to finish off her shift, shuffling around the restaurant for 30 more minutes as she had to wait for a couple to finish feeding each other crumbs. She waltzed over to Eke, excited she could finally leave after the morning/afternoon shift. "Where we off to now?" she asked, not sure what else to do.

"Erm..." he hadnt thought about it. "Someplace not hot?" he shrugged. He really didnt want to leave the resteraunt. It was horribly hot out there and he was so fragile. "What is there to do in town anyways.? i just got here yesterday"

Soph beamed at the confession. "Oh my god!" She took off her waiting apron, slinging it over her forearm as she smiled. "You need to try Jone's frozen custard! This town is second best in the country for frozen dessert, second only after Ted Drewe's, which is pretty dang good." She waited a beat before quickly adding, "My treat!"

"Why not go to the best?" he slowly stood. "You dont have to worry about the money. I can take care of it. you got me free food. I want to return the favor" He smiled. Something about his smile was...alluring. It drew people in.

Soph giggled at his statement. "Normally I'd say heck yes, but the best in the country is a couple states away." She shrugged with a playful smile. "We're gonna have to settle for second best!" She led the way out of the restaurant. "It's a few blocks that way," she informed Eke, pointing west. "However, since it's hot, I can always drive. Your choice."

"I..dont think i would last well in the heat" he stated. "Driving is good" He then looked to her. "Im still making this my treat. for letting me hang around and feeding me" he smiled, showing some fangs. "Lead the way"

"Cool," she said, smiling back at his fangs. "I'll drive, you pay." Soph led her new friend out the restaurant over to her navy blue used SUV. "Lucky for you, I had the passenger window fixed. Didn't go down at all a month ago." She clicked the doors open with the Fob-button, sliding into the driver's seat and starting the car. "Click-it, or ticket!" she piped automatically--something her mom said all the time.

"Uh..that...means to put my seatbelt on right? ive...never actually been in a car..." he got in looking at it all. He looked at her. He really needed some non girl clothes. how frustrating. He shrugged. "Sorry the heat is just...really bad for me"

She giggled, saying, "Yeah, here I'll help." She helped him guide the seat belt into the buckle. "Don't worry about it. How do you usually get around?" She adjusted her rear-view mirror, flinching when her horn grazed the roof of the car. She shook it off and pulled out of the parking lot.

"Walk...as much as i can..." he looked at her. "I like your horns. bigger than mine" He blushed. "Mind if i borrow some pants? and a...shirt? I dont really care for my clothes. I didnt have much else to take"

"Thanks, Eke. I'm sure yours'll grow as you get older!" She glanced at him, slowing down to make a right turn onto Main street as he spoke. "Is that all the clothes you have?" She hoped she didn't sound too worried to him. "I have a few extra T-shirts, but I don't think you'd fit into my pants. Maybe some shorts?"

"Yeah its all i have. that and a few other outfits." he nodded and stretched. "I hope mine dont get too much bigger. Mine wrap around my head. Would make it hard to see" he smiled and fussed with his hair. His arms and hands were quite bony and thing, but this didnt seem to bother Eke at all.

"That sounds uncomfortable!" Soph grimaced at the thought, watching his bony limbs out the corner of her eye. "Try rubbing them against hard objects every now and then to keep them from growing the wrong direction." She pulled into the parking lot and parked the car. "With this heat, I am super ready for some frozen custard, holy s--crap." She blushed.

"Whats wrong?" he looked at her. "Frozen custard sounds good." He smiled. "Oh i dont mind. my horns are mostly full sized" he smiled but he looked worried about her.

Soph didn't cuss too often, but enjoyed the emphasis it gives a sentence—she just never did it before in front of someone so much younger than her. "Oh, nothing. Just excited!" She was almost she he wouldn't mind, but it felt off to her. She hops out the vehicle, locking the doors behind them. "That's not so bad then. This one guy I knew in middle school had to get a brace on his to make sure they didn't grow through his skull."

She led him from the car to the building, basically a giant blue and beige striped kiosk with order-windows lining the entire front wall. A large sign sat on top of the building, Jone's Frozen Custard; 2nd best in the country. Chuckling, she asked, "Wait, what's your secret weapon?"
