Millet, spilling the tea: There is daily logins via the ship.
Presently posting and the ship are the only ways to acrue currency. We hope to have games but until we get some core features sorted those are on hold.

Yes, as Millet mentioned, there is a daily log in. When the ship on the front page is rocking, it means you have a daily to collect.
There are also several user run threads that give out currency and prizes. Charities are really helpful when looking for some items.
I know Panda's shop has a hand out for new users. Just gotta check around some of the different threads to see what the different users are offering. ^_^
