So story time.
Yesterday I woke up and reached for my phone and noticed that it was only at 7%. As I only had a couple of hours before my shift started I put it on the charger by my bed. I always double check to make sure that it's charging and noticed it wasn't working. So I switched out chargers. Still nothing. I checked the electric socket to make sure it was working and it was just fine. Found a third charger and tried it with no success. Tried googling solutions that wouldn't cost me an arm and a leg while I tried my tablet cord that's hooked up to my desktop. Nothing. Followed the steps and powered down my phone, took out the battery, wiped everything dllown with a dry cloth, turned it back on and I'm down to 4% and still not charging. Start to freak out a tiny bit and start informing everyone that I won't be mobile for the foreseeable future. Try my PS4 controller charger in a last attempt and decide to give up. I go to work and try the cords there and get a smidge of charge for two seconds. It's at this point I decide I'm screwed and I look up the warranty so I can call it in later. I continue my whole day with no phone. On my lunch I finally get the work charger to work, so I leave it there and go home to eat. Once I get back it was no longer charging, but got up to 26%, so I call my sister and let her know as she's out of town. THEN I LOOK INSIDE THE CHARGER PORT... Guys, there was a tiny piece of cat litter in the charger port. I feel like such a dooofus for not checking it first.
tl;dr
There was something in my charger port and I was ready to sacrifice myself to the phone gods because I couldn't figure out why my phone stopped charging.
Forums General Chit-Chat I'm a dumb
@The Youngest Granny: Lol. It gets in their paws sometimes and the younger likes to play with my phone sometimes. So it's quite possible that he was pawing at the charger port and got some gunk in there.
Oh my gosh lol. i've had hat before except with a little bead inside (I make jewelry from time to time). :vanora_sweat:
At least it's a crisis averted yeah? :D

@Sulley: Oh glob, having all those tiny beads everywhere would scare me after having such an ordeal. Lol.
Oh my glob, yessssss. It's been so nice being mobile again. Though I did have a pretty good day without my phone. >o>

I had that happen to me once before. It left such a lasting impression of anxiety that I bought a phone case that has a cover over the charging port. It just pops out and over to the side when I need to plug it in.
@blinkini: Honestly they are a huge pain in the buttcheeks to deal with; but the bracelets that can be made from them are sooo worth it. XD;;
I need to learn how to go a day without my phone again...But I'm a paranoid poop so the day that happens will be the day I'm mugged or lost.

@Niamh: That's actually a good idea. And I could probably use a new case... Though it would have to be a wallet case with that feature.
@Sulley: My friends mom makes thicker bracelets that look like an image. She's done some really neat ones, but I can't think of what any of them were, rn. D;
I'm more paranoid that something horrible is going to happen and no one will be able to get a hold of me to let me know about it. :<

@blinkini: I'm certain it wouldn't be too hard to find that feature on a wallet case. It's definitely been a good purchase for me, especially since my son has a habit of hiding my phone in his kinetic sand.
Please @ me.
My mind wanders so that ensures I come back.
