"Well, I like to ride in comfort and style." Jaden responded, starting the car.

"But I don't like to stand out TOO much." he admitted.

"Anyway, name's Jaden." he said.

"Though you can call me 'J' if you want. Some people do." he shrugged.

"Nice to meet you, Vyn." he went on, smiling at her.

"Seems you were hustling those dopes back in the bar." he then said, pulling away from where he'd parked.

"Not your fault that they're idiots." Jaden responded.

"They made an assumption, and the made themselves asses." he said.

"Their fault." he concluded.

"Regardless..." he then sighed, trailing off a little.

"Hustling CAN be a dangerous way to earn money." he said.

"...though I get the feeling that's not the case for you."

"ACTUAL profession?" Jaden asked.

"That's an... intriguing statement." he said.

"All right, I'll bite..." he then muttered, trailing off again.

"What IS your actual profession?" he asked.

"What do you do that allows you to speak of broken bones so casually?"

"A hunter?" Jaden responded.

"Hmm. I see." he said.

"Not a profession that one hears of very much these days." he went on.

"What's been your most successful hunt?" he asked.

"Every hunter has that one story. Their best hunt, their most successful quarry." he chuckled.

"What's your proudest hunt?"

"....a wildcat?" Jaden asked.

"....I.... hm." he muttered.

"What sort of wildcat?" he asked.

"Obviously one not suitable for a pet." he chuckled.

"But what kind? Caracal? Lynx?" he asked further.

'Something seems... off.' he then thought. 'I think there's more than what there seems to be here...'

'......hmmm.' Jaden thought.

"I'm a magician." he said.

"I specialize in shows that aren't exactly for young audiences." he told her.

"I've been dubbed as a 'Physical Mind Freak'." he went on.

"I, essentially, stab myself repeatedly in various areas, only to come out unscathed." he continued.

"The audience never tired of it, it seems."

"Bingo." Jaden replied.

"On all accounts." he said.

"Such hideyholes are getting rarer and rarer." he lamented with a sigh, before pausing.

"Never managed to get to one of my shows?" he then asked.

"Check my glove compartment." he told her.

"There's some VIP passes for my next show in a few weeks." he said.

"Take one if you want."

"If you don't, you don't." he said.

"I always get a handful of those, and they almost always go to waste." he lamented.

"Usually when someone gets such a pass, it's a test of endurance to make it through their talk of how the darkness in the human races only tempers the strength of true deep dark love, and blah blah blergh." he mumbled.

"The absolute worst of it was one girl that thought that reciting a poem she'd written about... well... apparently staining her heart with the devil's magic would bond us together, and we would forever be together, as a goth couple, in perfect misery and harmony... to me would cause me to sweep her off her feet like she was Sally and I was Jack Skellington." he informed her further.

"It was... sweet... in a cringy edgelordy sort of way." he then muttered.

"Regardless, you're welcome." he finished.

When she reached the bar, she noticed that the entirety of the audience was... as to be expected.

She saw goths, emos, and punks... all of them running the gambit of authenticity.

She saw genuine goths, emos and punks... those that had earnestly identified with the lifestyle, and were there to simply enjoy a show that catered to their preferred entertainment choices. But she also saw a great deal of people that had simply used their parents' credit cards at Hot Topic, and were essentially appropriating the culture, there to see a hot male that looked feminine.

It was at that moment, a woman behind the bar slid up to Vyn.

"Good evening." she greeted her, a sultry tone to her voice.

"What would you like?" she asked.

The woman looked at the ID, and smirked.

"Oooh, I love it when this happens." she said.

"Comin' right up." she told Vyn, before promptly getting to work.

It was at that point, a man appeared on stage, walking up to the microphone and tapping on it.

"Ladies and Gentlemen." he announced.

"Are you ready to have your minds BLOWN!?" he exclaimed, to rousing cheers.

"Omg omg omg omg..." Vyn then heard a girl... a young teen... squeal.

"He's going to notice me tonight, I know it!" she exclaimed.

"The fortune teller's prediction will come true, and we'll fall in love!"
