I got into gardening last year, and since I live in an apartment: all of mine grow in pots. Most are outdoor plants. I had several survice winter! Most notably my catnip, and parsley. I might be able to post some progress pics later.
I've got honeysuckle, and coffee trees as my main additions this year, and I'll be sowing some habanero seeds tonight. How's your garden/house plants doin'?
Forums General Chit-Chat The Plants! They're alive!
@vengeance: Aw D: I've got a niiice patio with an awning so plenty of bright indirect light for me. Well, I guess you could have most varieties of cacti. o:
@Q t e a p o n: Magic, of course! Jk. You get plants that tolerate loooow light like english ivy. Pothos & snake are others that are good low light plants. If you give 'em outdoor treatment sometimes: they'll become bushy!
@Totalanimefan: I'd totally be down to interview some planets. See how Pluto really feels about it's promotions & demotions lol.
Half of my plants are from clippings/herb tins. It's surprising how well stuff roots.

@Fellowsheep: I hope you didn’t put the coffee tree too close to a window. When the beans are done, they shoot out.
@SirLionelNigelConrad: that does save so time making dinner though

@SirLionelNigelConrad: I hope repotting goes well! How many do you have? :D
@Tuijp: Yeah, I accidentally gave 'em sunburn when I first got 'em. They're little seedlings still, less than 10in tall. When it's 60+f I let 'em hang out outside behind my shady ivys, and some of the bigger pots. The new leaves comin' in seem to enjoy it!

@koneko: I haven't tried lavender, but I've been able to get sage sprigs to root! I was able to keep the stems alive during the winter, or so I thought, but I'm not seeing any leaves yet.
@mookpooks: That sounds heavenly! Me and succulents don't get along yet, since my cat tries to eat 'em, or dig in the soil in the places they'll have a chance to get enough sun.
@SirLionelNigelConrad: Aw! Is it like a spider plant, or pothos?

@Fellowsheep: that's so cool! I have a little plant farm myself and i'm so surprised/happy/relieved that most of them survived this winter. ; w;

@koneko: Same here, and I hope the seedlings grow strong the second time around! It took me two-three tries with parsley & catnip last year. So maybe you just needed practice!
@nyreen: Congrats! It was my first time over wintering potted plants, and I gotta say: I'm amazed majority of them lasted. I think the only casualties were the stems with no leaves (looking at you basil & sage). Is it too late to throw a "you made it" celebration for the survivors?

@koneko: Aw! Poor thing. Did you prune it? I had issues with mine being sparse & leggy until I started aggressive pruning. (Leaving 1 or 2 stalks behind.) I've found the herbs in my care tend to thrive better when I harvest from them regularly, even if it's just a tiny harvest.
I don't currently have any plants. Sadly, the last time I tried to grow something? I was growing chives, they were still babies when someone decided not to listen to me and water them for me... with a hose... it crushed them to death.
@SnakeWeaver: Ouch! That's so frustrating sounding. I hope your next plant will be just admired.
