As she neared and looked it over, she sighed.

"Hey Ash. Don't blink." She stated simply before pulling her phone out of her pocket, backing away from the statue, and activating voice commands so she wouldn't need to look away.

"Call Vincent." She stated simply. Moments later, it was dialing the number as she brought the device up to her ear.

"Hey, Vincent?" She started after he'd answered.

"Question.... do you want Doctor Who?"

But he did it anyway.

And Cass's phone rang only a few times, before it was picked up.

"Doctor Who?" Vincent asked.

"A little." he said.

"I mean I used to watch some of the older serials." he told her.

"....why?"

"Ever heard of the Weeping Angels?" Cass asked, not looking away from the statue.

"I've heard of them, yes." Vincent answered.

"Do you know what they are?" She then asked. Vincent didn't answer, which was enough of an answer.

"All right. See a new statue that wasn't there before? Don't look away. Don't blink." She stated.

"Oh, and no photos or recordsing, that'll be a headache to deal with too."

Ash looked like he was prepping to do something with his phone, but suddenly stopped when Cass made her last warning.

"Eh?" Vincent asked.

"Why?" he asked her.

"I mean, I'll go along with not looking away or blinking, but... why no photos or recordings?" he asked further.

In his mind, he was hoping it wouldn't be too serious... otherwise their problems had just gotten that much worse.

"Because I'm going to assume that this is the same as the Who species." Cass answered.

"An image of an Angel, becomes an angel itself." She then said, quoting the show.

"And if these things are truly Weeping Angels.... then an image - whether it be a still photo or a recording will in essence become an angel in and of itself. I don't get how, but apparently that's hwo they work."

"And I'm praying that it's not the case with these real things we've to deal with."

"Apparently at least one of them killed someone at Casey's recent art gallery showing... and their cameras caught it on tape." he told her.

Ash was silent and just quietly put his phone away.

"But I'll remember that." Vincent then told her.

"Are you all right?" he asked.

". . . . that footage needs to be destroy if it's anything akin to how they are in the show." Cass tated, a certain degree of certainly and seriousness to her voice.

'Beyond that, I have no idea what to say." She added with a light sigh.

"In the mean time, Ash and I have a statue here to deal with. I need to find a sledgehammer, and destroy this thing."

"I'll answer your question later, if I survive this." With that, she ended the call and told her phone to call someone else. Sydney this time.

A matter of minutes later the woman in question showed up, a sledgehammer in hand as Cass had requested. She walked past the statue, looking it from top to bottom before looking to the other two.

"This one of the things that seems to be terrorising everyone?"

Ash seemed to be speechless for a moment, before sighing.

"Uh... yeah." he replied.

"Yeah, it is." he told her.

"It's killed a number of people already." he said further.

He then looked at the sledgehammer, and realized what was up.

"...well... yeah, the direct approach is always the best, I suppose."

"Precisely. And if we take care of this one, who knows? Maybe it's the only damned thing and all I'll need to do is clean up my fucking guild." Cass half snapped.

"Sydney, Ash, you two have more physical strength than I do, most assuredly." She then said. "So I'll leave you to take care of this thing. Remember the key thing, don't blink. Don't blink, look away, or anything. SOMEONE has to be looking at it at all times. Coordinate your bloody blinks if you have to." She then said.

"Make sure it's not out of anyone's site for any time, even a fraction of a second." She sighed here, before shaking her head.

"Me, I'm going to go try and clean up this mess, unless you two need me here. If you don't think you can deal with this, let me know and I'll stick around."

Ash just sighed as Cass said all she did.

"Right." he said.

"Cass, you go and do what you need to do." he told her.

"Sydney and I will take care of this menace." he said further, cracking his knuckles.

"Allllll righty then." he muttered, stepping closer.

"Sydney, might as well check to see if the sledgehammer will destroy this thing." he told the vampire.

Cass nodded before waving and heading off, leavin the pair to deal with the statue themselves.

"So this is what is causing problems." the vampire stated as she hefted the sledgehammer over her shoulder.

"It looks... kinda like marble, actually." She continued.

"Meaning... we should be able to smash it pretty easily. It's not super strong, just a bit stronger than your fingernails."

Ash looked at the thing up and down, before nodding.

"Right." he said.

"Sure thing." he told her.

He then grabbed the sledgehammer, gripped it tightly with his hands, swung it back like it was a bat... and then paused.

"And there's the pitch..." he mumbled to himself.

"Aaaaaaand..." he finished, trailing off a little, before slamming the head of the sledgehammer into the face of the statue... to which there was a massive 'thud' sound, and the hammer stopped right where the head was.

".....huh?" he muttered.

Sydney was silent as the hammer stopped where it was, and Ash let it fall to the floor.

"That... was unexpected." She commented before approaching it again (as she had taken a few steps back to allow Ash to have plenty of room).

"There's... barely even a crack." She commented as she ran a hand down the impact site.

"I just... I'm surprised. What the hell? These look like marble, but obviously aren't." She paused a moment before sighing lightly.

"I ... have no idea what to make of this, to be honest."

Sydney nodded.

"Well, we can't keep this up, if this is all that this tool's gonna do." Ash then said.

"We need something stronger." he told her.

"Like... maybe something... mage-crafted, or something." he muttered.

"You know what I mean? Just something that's stronger and more durable than a mortal tool or weapon."

"Why, does this have to do with those statues that have been murdering en masse?" he asked her.

"You've had to deal with them too?" She asked, proving how out of the loop she was at the moment.

"We've had some terrorising Lux." She then said with a light sigh.

"And Ash and I have one pinned here.... And we're looking to destroy it so it doesn't continue to kill people."
