"Why do you say I'm not ready!?" Zeke exclaimed.

"And I know I was denied! It pisses me off!" he then said.

"She deserves oblivion! I know they must agree with me up there!" he went on.

"But they denied me because YOU told them to!" he then said further.

"That blade is the best chance I have at eliminating her!" he then growled.

"....all right..." Zeke muttered.

"You say I have a shot at getting it, if I fix the issues I have currently." he said.

"...mind filling me in?" he asked.

"WHAT are my issues? WHAT is preventing me from getting the answer to all these damn problems?" he asked.

"Seriously, your daughter is REALLY pissing me off with everything she's doing, and this would solve a LOT of problems." he went on, a bit annoyed now.

He felt like he was being jerked around at this point, and he didn't much appreciate it.

Zeke was getting REALLY upset now.

"What does that even MEAN!?" he asked.

"Look, we agree that Vanessa shouldn't exist any more. She's done too much!" he went on.

"That blade will do it!" he continued.

"Come on, she's even gone and made it personal for ME, now!" he then said.

"Let me strike with the fury of the archangel DNA that lives within me!"

"......." Zeke was then silent as he heard that.

He then opened his mouth to ask something more, but stopped.

The look in her eyes said she was done talking about this.

"....hmph." he muttered.

"Geez." he snarled.

"Fine." he then said. "Don't tell me." he said further.

"All this cryptic bullcrap is... just... GRAH!" he then exclaimed, letting out a yell of frustration.

".....damn it all!" Zeke cursed loudly when Syraene left, thankful his mother wasn't there to hear him.

The next day, Ally and Levi were in the cafeteria, eating, when they noticed Peyton and Zeke having a conversation near the entrance to the area.

"Looks like it's not going so well..." Levi muttered to Ally, as they watched Peyton leave, looking... sad and annoyed. And Zeke looked like he was getting mad.

"...yeah, that didn't go well." he then said further.

"Odd. Usually Peyton's a cheery and uplifting sort." he added, thinking about it.

"Hm... maybe..." Levi muttered, as Zeke started to make his way past them, looking like he was stewing.

"...yo!" Levi called to him.

"Huh?" Zeke muttered, looking over.

"Come and sit!" Levi told him, with Zeke obliging, and sitting across from them.

"What's up?" the nephilim asked.

"You looked like you could use someone to talk to." was Levi's response.

"....that obvious, huh?" Zeke asked with a heavy sigh.

Zeke just sighed.

"Just... ugh." he mumbled.

"Peyton and I usually go out for lunch every time this week, but she's not up to it." he said.

"She just... she hasn't been up for doing ANYTHING, really." he lamented.

"That rather sucks." Levi replied. "Any idea why?" he asked.

"Seems her and her partner, Mira, are having a bit of a strained time in their relationship." Zeke told them.

"....huh?" Zeke muttered.

"I just said." he told her.

"They seem to be having issues, and now Peyton doesn't want to hang out or anything we usually do." he said.

Levi was silent as he heard this, before raising an eyebrow.

"Uh... wait, is this really a 'you' problem?" he then asked.

"Eh? What do you mean?" Zeke asked.

"...uh... well... as I said, Peyton now doesn't want to hang out, and that really sucks." Zeke replied.

"...is that it?" Levi asked.

"I... suppose so..." Zeke responded, suddenly sounding unsure.

"That... seems a little on the selfish side." Levi then said, before pausing and sighing.

"And THAT was about as diplomatic as you're gonna get. Be prepared for some harshness..." he then warned, knowing there was a strong chance Ally would 'tell it like it was' next.

Zeke was stunned at what he had heard coming out of her mouth.

"But if they're having issues, then shouldn't they be solved?" he asked.

"Yes." Levi replied.

"However, the right thing done for the wrong reason can be as bad as doing the wrong thing." he then said.

"Or... something like that..." he then mumbled, thinking about it for a moment, and then looking at Ally.

"...did I get that right?" he asked her.
