Okay, the kids are cute. They can stay.
But the teens who just make a mess, they’re out!

Teens are also children, just tall ones. And all children can fuck off.

lol

The well behaved ones can stay.
Just at a distance...

Older people are always like, you don’t like children? But you’re female!

I don't actually get a lot of that, or any of the 'when are you having a baby'. Except once. My aunt was like 'your cousin had a baby right out of high school!' That's not a good thing my dear aunt. The only reason she's fine is because you paid for everything. I made it very clear I hate children, and that it would be morally wrong for me to have a child I cannot take care of.

Yes, exactly! My sister wants children but can’t afford to have any.
She and her husband make just barely enough to live, just the 2 of them.
And I agree that babies should be planned for and budgeted for.

I feel like I made it clear I don’t want kids, but my grandma and other older relatives still have these thoughts that woman just get married and have kids.
It makes me wonder how many of them didn’t actually want kids, but had them anyway.

good morning.

@Another Movie Addict:
@Lina:
The older generations had very different ideas about roles, society, and expectations than what we have currently (& it can be difficult to change perspectives or even recognize that there has been a cultural shift as you get older). You have to view their perspectives in the context of the age and generation (& even the geography, sometimes) they were brought up in.

That's very true.

It can be difficult to remember that though

Oh no I remember it, that doesn't stop me from going 'That's a stupid thought you just had'.

LOL - that's where discretion on whether or not to vocalize it comes in to play!

In my case, telling someone to have a baby when they can't afford it is the dumbest thought.

Yes. I agree, but people don't always think things through like you'd expect.

At least I don't always have to deal with that shit.

I know older generations were raised differently, but sometimes I still get annoyed at them. >.<
Just... I’ve told my grandma so many times that I don’t want kids

I know, I just need to be patient and accept people for who they are
