I was watching a tv show about little people a couple weeks ago, and I found out that they don't like the "m" word.
I wonder if they'd be offended to be called Hobbits...
The term accepted is little people, isn't it. Even though surprisingly my mom isn't.
Yeah, seems basically anything but the "m" word.
I can't fathom the undesirability of the term, but I am not a little person so I can not argue.
Really just reminds me of that one John Mulaney skit where he wanted to include the word in a show and the producers or whoever were like "no" and tried to tell him it was "just as bad as the 'n' word".
And he goes "no, cos we're saying the word midget and we're not even saying what the 'n' word is".

A slur is a slur, but I don't think anything can really be compared to the long, brutal, racist history of the 'n' word.
