I'm still not sure if you can curse in titles so that's what you get.

So, I have a story in an anthology that's coming out on Halloween. Today one of the authors who's putting together the anthology posted in our group basically saying "I've done a read through and there are some serious editing issues in these. 11 of these stories are not edited well, if at all. They're only 5k words, it would take maybe an hour. Let's have some pride in our work."

They made it very clear that they weren't editing for us. Over and over, they told us we had to get our work edited independently. There are 14 of us and knowing 11 have serious editing issues makes me think, get your shit together y'all.
I told them I'd read over mine again but they told me mine was one of the only ones that was edited properly. I had mine edited, like I was asked to.

As indie authors some people already look down on us, let's at least give our best work for goodness sake.
Luckily they have 2 more days to edit them. The final manuscript has to be submitted by Saturday.

@Totalanimefan: right? I'm surprised to hear about some because they're well known indie authors who are some of the more high rated, wonderful ones.
It looks like they're all getting shit worked out. The two authors running the anthology, who are AMAZING ladies, are making sure it gets taken care of. This is an anthology for charity too.

@Wildfire: From what I've seen at least 8 of them have resubmitted theirs after editing. I know because they've said on Facebook.

@Wildfire: yeah, it's something. A couple of them apparently just hadn't gotten them from the editor yet, they got them this morning. A couple sent theirs the night she posted this message and got them back this morning.
I know the two ladies running the anthology, they wouldn't let anything subpar go out.

@Wildfire: I'm hoping so too. It helps that I trust the two people who are running the anthology. They've done many and they've all done well. I know their work, I've read them, and they're good writers. So right now I'm just putting my trust in them.
