@ixora: Yeah, it’s like tomato sauce but I like to replace tomato sauce with barbecue. Especially if I’m having Hawaiian pizza.

This time around, I was super tired while ordering on GrubHub and clicked buffalo instead of barbecue.

@Ixora: yeaaah the sauce on my pizza

I ended up finishing it but... ick. Never again.

@ixora: Mhh. I ordered pizza yesterday so I don’t crave other foods as much. Though I did make an absolutely terrible mistake and got buffalo sauce instead of barbecue sauce as my pizza sauce. (I... can’t handle spicy stuff.)

@ixora: I've never actually tried bitter melon with regular eggs. Always made it with salted duck eggs... hm... craving bitter melon.

@ixora: It's actually not super, super bitter -- the bitterness is different from, say, the bitterness you get from tannins. Bitter melon *does* have that tannic bitterness, but if you cook it right, and with meat or eggs, that icky flavor goes away. (I called my mom earlier and I asked her about bitter melon and she says bitter melon soup with *only* bitter melon is probably terrible.)

Oh, yeah, apparently just google "bitter melon with salted duck egg", and "stuffed bitter melon soup".

@ixora: My mom makes really nice bitter melon soup where she stuffs sections of hollowed-out bitter melon with... it was either fish paste or ground pork. I'll see if I can find pics online. The fish/pork evens out the flavor. Another way we cook bitter melon is to chop it into thin slices with salty duck egg? That's one of my favorite dishes. I also love plain bitter melon soup w ribs.

Yeah, I'm a little weird on the chocolate front. I've only met... one...? other person who likes 80% dark chocolate.

@ixora: I'm no longer able to drink coffee (or, well, I might be, just haven't had the, haha, guts to try it), but back when I did, I drank pure black coffee, no sugar, no cream. The only sweet I consistently like, though, is 75-85% dark chocolate. Preferably with sea salt. And I also like bitter melon, and over-steeped tea. And orange rind.
