i started using edge for netflix because chrome is BULLSHIT and won't play in HD
but my god it's so bad.........
i literally only use it for one website and it struggles with that

everyone in my house is a pushover for our cat in different ways so there's no way he'd take to any training attempts
WAIT is there a cupboard or something above the counter you could create a cling film barrier with? like tape at the top and at the bottom so if he tries to jump up he gets blocked and/or tangled up in it to the point of being put off?
