It's nice to correspond with real information with a horror story. But I think they need to be more careful with that otherwise, yeah like you said it debunks whatever information they are trying to pass off.

You'd think people would not be that stupid and I thought the same thing.
That is until I met my step brother and the stories of him and his step family.
Clearly that level of stupid does exist and that is scary.
