Hiya! I'm new too, just joined a few days ago. Haha. This seems like a pretty cool place so far though.

If you like fantasy and have not yet read The Hobbit, and The Lord of the Rings, those are indeed must-reads. The Hobbit of course, has a dragon in it. I also recommend his other works like The Children of Húrin.

I also have a book series on my Goodreads list called Firelight by Sophie Jordan. I haven't read it yet, but it's about dragons.

There's also a series called Eon by Alison Goodman which may be worth checking out.

Both the second third reference picture shows what her hair would look like while it's down and not pulled back. Except the length of the hair is too short in the third pic, it would be as long as it is in the second. Or down to her lower back if you do more than a bust shot. And even with her bangs pulled back, it would still be slightly less perfect. I could only do so much with makers. It would be wavy and reddish-brown though. And as for what hairstyle you wish to draw, that is entirely up to you. As is all other artistic freedom.

Posted in How do you feel about abortion? Posted 7 years ago
I am one-hundred percent pro-choice, no matter what the circumstance is. I don't care if it's rape or if if they decided to do something without protection, they should still have the right to abortion if they do not wish to go through with a pregnancy. To me, it is much kinder to terminate a fetus before its life begins rather than having them be born into a life of suffering or to parents who don't want them.

And for those who say there's always adoption, well, while that is true, it's not always that simple. There are already countless children in orphanages and foster care who have yet to be adopted or are often overlooked. As well as many starving and homeless or abandoned children. And children who have been abused. Bottom line, there are already many children who are suffering and in need of love and forcing someone to continue a pregnancy to term would just add to this problem. Why bring more children into these situations when there are already so many in need? I also don't think that pregnancy should be used as a punishment. Just because someone got pregnant without the use contraceptives doesn't make it okay to force them to carry a pregnancy to term. Everyone makes mistakes and having a child can be something that drastically changes a person's life. If someone isn't ready to be a parent, then they should be allowed to have the option for abortion just as someone who was raped should have the option. A college-bound student shouldn't be forced to give up their dream and possibly give up the chance at achieving a great feat (such as finding a cure for cancer or AIDS or another disease) because of a mistake that they made at a college party.

I can understand how this can be a conflicting issue for so many people, but it's not all black and white. There are many gray areas and they should be considered before making a choice of whether or not it should be legal. And it's also important to note, that even if abortion became illegal, doesn't mean it wouldn't happen. People would still find a way to abort a fetus, even if that meant going back to using coat-hangers. Keeping abortion legal simply allows individuals to have a safe method of terminating a pregnancy.

I myself am an Eclectic Wiccan, but I do not discriminate against others or judge them for their beliefs no matter how different they are from my own. I believe in a goddess and a god who are equal in power and who are guides to help us through hardships in life but otherwise leave us to our own devices rather than beings we have to appeal to for forgiveness or worship. I believe that everyone is responsible for their own actions and shouldn't put the blame on others.
Posted in Children? Posted 7 years ago
I'm honestly not much of a kid person and I tend to dislike most kids. Now, I don't wish ill on them or anything, I love my nieces dearly for instance. I just do not desire to have any nor do I want to babysit. I don't have the patience for them and I'm always worried something bad will happen to them and I won't be able to handle it. I can barely handle myself, let alone someone who is younger than me, and it's a sense of responsibility that I am not ready for. Not to mention that I am absolutely terrified of pregnancy and childbirth. The thought of having another being growing inside me just freaks me out to no end.

That being said, I understand completely where people who don't want children come from since I myself do not want any and I am in no place to judge them. On the other hand, I will also not judge people who have several children. As long as they can provide them with a life that fits all of their basic needs and the children are loved, I don't see a problem.

Slytherclaw:
@Lithinel: Why don't you know the second part? Is that like, you're still deciding, or is it something in the lore? I'm not familiar with it, lol

I'm just still deciding what it will be. I want to take my time and find the "perfect" name for her, rather than just picking something that sounds pretty.
Posted in How old are you? Posted 7 years ago
I turned 20 back in July. I feel like such a youngster considering there are only a few people under 20.

Well I love to use my LotR OC as my persona on most of the sites I visit, and Lith is the first part of her name. Since I don't yet know what the second part of her name is, I used the last part of my name, nel. And since Lithnel didn't really seem to work, I stuck an "I" in the middle to make it Lithinel.
