@Unicorn: I've watched about eight episodes. Quentin is a dick to his friend though. Shes been there for him (from what they showed anyway), supported him, and then when she asks him to ask the dean to retest her and shows him that she does have magic, he just instantly dismisses her and treats her like crap. I just didnt like his character at all. All the characters are pretty much solid archetypes, and they'd never mesh in the real world either.

I'll be honest. I started watching this but I couldnt get through many episodes. I just couldnt stand the main character. He was a dick to his friend, because he was suddenly better than her at something. Then he was doing magic way out of his skill level that could've gotten people killed, several times, like he just didnt seem to actually learn from his mistakes. It was frustrating.
