@Unicorn: The Eye of a Tropical Storm / Hurricane is always "calm" and It is not safe to go outside until the System had completely moved.
Went out when I was a Kid During a hurricane without permission and since the Hurricane's Eye was "small" and It was moving fast, I got soaked and the changed direction of the Strong Winds almost blew Me down to the ground. So, yea... I never went outside again until a Storm / Hurricane had gone completely away.
Also, I am in NW Florida but I might still have Relatives in North &/or South Carolina.

Hurricane Florence is Cat 1 now but I am afraid that damage to the South Carolina and Neighboring Coast Lines' / Beaches' are still going to be fierce like with All Tropical Systems' / Severe Weather.

@Unicorn: No, was just stating that My Area is "High Enough" to not be under the Mandatory Evacuation of a Storms' / Hurricanes' Storm Surge ( Flooding ). Hurricane Florence was Cat 3 This Morning but is a Cat 2 right now.

@Unicorn: Yep, not in an Area that has a Mandatory Evacuation during a Cat 5 Hurricane.

@Unicorn: I am on "High Ground"; so, I am safe from Flooding. Thank You.

We did get some Strong Winds and Severe Thunderstorms as I am in NW Florida. TS Gordon was heading towards My Area but thankfully moved more West. Still, Best of Wishes and Well beings for Everyone.

Grrrrreat.... Did not watch the Weather.com this morning but just found out that My Area is under a Tropical Storm Warning until 6 AM CDT September 4th.
