My brother misspoke on the phone the other day and said he was "bringing the dog back". So, ha, dog is mine now and he can borrow her from time to time.
I bail on most parties. I don't feel like being surrounded by muggles people and be forced into chit chat.

I've been dog sitting her since she was a puppy and she listens better to me than she does to my brother

I'd love to give you my summer
He does that when he has the afternoon shift. I also have the dog when he has the morning shift, but he doesn't bring her then. Then he'd come over before 5 am.
I know a bunch of people who do less on their days off.
