"I... Cain?" She asked, ehr voice ... almost sounding scared. She sounded like she'd been through hell and back, several times over.

'What... why was I down there?" She asked.

"Shouldn't... shouldn't we be on the way to homecoming?" She then followed up with.

Cain paused for a moment.

"Uh... what?" he asked.

"Homecoming, what?" he asked her.

"Lunet, are you all right?' he then asked her.

"Homecoming was... oh geez..." he mumbled, thinking about it.

"Years ago." he told her.

"Seriously. Just relax and gather yourself." he added.

"I... What?' Lunet asked before wincing, rather severely. She had a blooming headache, and it really wasn't hard to tell.

"Just..." She trailed off, wincing again, violently this time.

"I... I can't.." She started, trying to say that she can't deal with the headache. With a hand at her head though, she wasn't able to properly say it.The pain kept stopping her.

"......" Cain was silent, before sighing.

"Right." he said.

"Look, let's... let's just get you somewhere safe." he said.

"Let's... get you back home." he suggested.

"You'll be safe there and you can relax." he went on.

Plus, it gave him an excuse to be away from his mother, who didn't even know him right now.

Lunet nodded.

"Y-y-yeah... please..." She said quietly, half relying on Cain to keep her on her feet. She was barely able to stand, and it really wasn't hard to tell.

After Cain had used his mana to get them back home, Lunet did drop to her knees, honestly barely conscious. She just leaned back against the couch that was behind her and laid her head back on the cushions to try and stop the world from spinning.

"I... is Dad home..?" She asked, having to choose her words carefully due to how she was feeling

"No." he replied.

"He's not." he told her.

"He's been spending a lot of time at the Unit. Apparently it's been hella hectic there." he went on.

"Do you want me to call him?" he asked her.

"See if he can come here?"

"N... No." She answered honestly.

"I... I'd rather he wasn't here.... fretting and worrying." She added.

"wanna help me up to bed? I feel like I could just die."

"Sure." he said.

He then lifted her up in his arms, and started to carry her up to her bed.

"....I'm gonna stick around here." he told her.

"Make sure you don't get any worse or whatever." he reasoned.

"That all right?" he asked.

"If you'd rather I wasn't here, I can go." he said, though he really didn't want to leave.

Lunet just wrapped her arms around Cain and laid her head against his chest. There was something about this that was extremely comforting to her, for her.

"..." She was completely silent for a few seconds before sighing.

". . no... st-stay..." She then said.

"I ... I mean, in the house." She added. She hadn't meant for him to stay in her room, specifically, but to stay in the house, somewhere that she could find him if she needed to.

"I can stay here." he told her.

He then paused for a moment, as her words sunk in.

"...hm." he mumbled.

'Guess she wants to just be alone for the moment.' he thought.

"You want me to come check up on you art any point?" he asked her.

Lunet nodded.

"Please.." She said after a moment or two as she tried to get comfy. It wasn't easy, her head was pounding to such a degree she could almost barely make heads or tails of anything.

"Just...." He could hear her voice fading a bit. She was probably gonna clip into unconsciousness soon, and quite soon at that.

Cain just nodded in response.

"Of course." he replied.

By the time he'd gotten her to her room, she was all but conked out, so he laid her down in her bed and made sure she was comfortable, before leaving the room and making his way down to the den.

He planned to watch TV to pass the time.

Only a couple of hours had passed, and he was getting himself a drink, when he heard a terrified and blood-curdling shriek from Lunet's room.

Immediately, he dropped what he was doing, and raced up to her room.

"Lunet!?" he exclaimed, almost busting down the door.

When Cain burst into the room, he faintly saw her in the extreme dim lightning. She looked like she was still asleep, but it was certainly not a peaceful sleep.

She tense, her hands were gripping the pillow tightly enough that her knuckles were almost completely translucent from the amount of force. He could hear some soft cries from her as well.

It looked like her blankets and the like were soaked with sweat, too.

"......." Cain was silent, before getting closer and gently placing his hands on her shoulders.

"Hey! Lunet!" he exclaimed.

"Wake up!" he told her, as he gently jostled her.

"You're having a nightmare! Wake up!" he continued.

"Lunet! Come on! It's Cain! Wake up!" he added.

He'd never seen Lunet like this before... normally she had no troubles sleeping.

Was what had happened earlier worse than he'd thought?

It took notably longer than Cain would have liked to admit, before she finally woke.

And it wasn't hard to tell that she woke.

She woke with a scream, and flailed as she tried to get away from Cain, not seeming to realise who was there, or possibly what.

She just scrambled back on her bed, not realising exactly where she was, and ending up on the floor abruptly, as her bed wasn't against the wall.

"Woah, woah, woah, Lunet!" Cain exclaimed.

"Easy, there! It's me, Cain!" he told her.

"You're home! You're in your room! You were in your bed! You're safe!" he continued.

"Lunet, please." he went on.

"Please, calm down. It was just a nightmare." he went on.

"You're safe, I promise."

Lunet scrambled away from him, but as he finished what he was saying, she seemed to finally calm down.

"I..." She started, more fear in her voice than any other time that he'd ever heard or seen her in the past.

Lunet was completely silent as she just buried her face in his shoulder, her hands grasping him and his shirt with what almost seemed to be the same force as she had been grasping her pillow before.

They were there for nearly an hour, before she finally lososened her grasp, but didn't properly let go.

". . . I... I can't... there's... there's no way I can get back to sleep ..." She said quietly, not moving away from him at all.
