A few hours later, Ryker pulled up to their house with a rented RV, turning it off and stepping out of it.

"Cool." he said.

"Eke's gonna love seeing this in the driveway." he chuckled, before going inside.

Eventually eke got up.

And his appetite was back ten fold.

To his surprise, arissa had already made food.

"I figured you might be huntry" she said to him.

He grinned and sat down looking around for ryker or aly

Aly had been up to use the washroom when Eke woke up, and came downstairs shortly after.

"Good morning!" she said cheerily.

"Sleep well, Eke?" she asked.

At that point, they heard some commotion from the basement, following by the sounds of some things collapsing.

"WOOOAH, HELL!" Ryker yelled out.

"YIKES!" he yelled further, before the crashing stopped.

"Ryker?!" he called concerned.

Downstairs was a pile of boxes and bags... and Ryker emerged from under them.

"Oh,, blah!" he exclaimed.

"Yeah, I'm cool." he told Eke.

"Just ended up causing a junk-valanche." he chuckled.

"S'what I get for trying to take a cooler from the bottom."

He blinked again.

Then he began laughing.

"Why didnt you just take from the top and work towards the bottom?" he said starting to clean up.

"I swear...i thought i was impatient" he said shaking his head

"I didn't realise the cooler was actually a key part of the structure of that pile of stuff, gimme a break!" Ryker responded with a laugh.

He then took the cooler and tossed it off to the side.

"That should work, though." he said.

"Anyway, let's just pile this stuff in a corner somewhere." he suggested.

"None of the boxes opened, at least. They're taped shut pretty well."

"Why are we taking a cooler?" he asked.

"And how did we get so many boxes?" he said

"The boxes are filled with mostly junk." Ryker replied.

"Old shirts and shoes of mine." he continued.

"They wear out quickly from my job." he said.

"I'll need to sort them and toss them soon." he went on.

"And the cooler is just in case." he then said.

"Maybe you actually want to spend the night in a tent, as opposed to the RV. I can put stuff in there to be available right at the tent."

"You got a what now?" he asked again shocked.

"What...what was wrong with just walking from place to place?" he said.

Sure there were health issues along the way and sometimes finding a place to stay was hard but...had it been that bad?

"You didn't see it outside?" Ryker asked.

"I got it so we can cover more ground." he told him.

"I have no problems with walking, but c'mon, let's see more of the country." he went on.

"Let's see all we can see." he continued.

"Drive to a place, spend a few days walking around, exploring, camping, and then maybe move on?" he suggested.

"Unless you don't like that idea."

"You..bought an rv so we could...see more?" he said.

"you were trying to make the trip...you were...trying to make it better...for...for me?" he said.

"Oh...did...did you happen to find my jacket in the cave?" he said gripping his shirt nervously

"I rented it for use on our little journey." he said.

"And I was trying to make it better for the both of us." he went on.

"Also, yeah. I did." he then went on.

"Picked it up as I was fleeing the crumbling enclosure."

He hated being treated like he was glued together glass.

"Right then." he said.

"Yeah, sure." he told him, thinking about it, before snapping his fingers.

"I hung it up on my closet door!" he remembered.

He hugged ryker.

"Im sorry i guess everything thats happened has...changed me" he said fighting tears.

How was he supposed to move on from killing his undead father.?

The man was rotting as he continued to walk to earth.

He shivered crying.

Ryker was surprised for a moment, but returned the hug.

"Hey, it's all right." he said.

"Don't feel like you need to apologise to me or anything." he told him.

He then sighed quietly, and gently rubbed Eke's back.

"Eke..." he then said quietly.

"This trip will be good. Maybe you can do a little soul-searching while we're seeing the country, yeah?" he suggested.

"I hope so...i want this trip to be good" he said.

"Because im scared i wont get over it." he said.

"Im trying...i really am but...he was my dad and...and i may not have delt the killing blow but...i was fighting to the death and he was...rotting away and its just...nightmare fuel ykknow" he said.

"Maybe a shrink might not be so bad. not a hospital. i havent tried to kill anyone but...yknow...another medication to add to the list" he tried to joke

Ryker just sighed quietly, and smiled lightly.

"I think I understand." he said.

"You don't want someone to essentially give you a magic pill to make everything better, or assume you're nuts, or anything like that." he continued.

"You want someone that will listen to you, and is trained to understand the problem, talk it out with you, and perhaps suggestion solutions that may help." he went on.

"You don't want a damned psychiatrist at one of those shady facilities. You want a psychologist that wants to help people." he summarised.

"Am I close?" he asked with a light chuckle.
